Lunchtime Conversations
I forget, as I trudge into work in Boston on the 5:58 train, that Jon Bon was already having lunch. Here's some excerpts from interview from today, from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel:
Ask him the secret of his 20-year marriage to his high school sweetheart Dorothea and he just chuckles and shrugs his shoulders. He also talks a little bit about the ticket prices (a recurring theme among the Fandom):
"I have no idea," he laughs over lunch at London's prestigious Mandarin Oriental Hotel. "If you can answer that one you would win a big prize!
"It's horrible when you are away touring - it's terrible. You are away from everyone and it can be for long periods. But so are travelling salesmen and soldiers.
"I have been married a long time, 20 years, and it's great. I am not the only guy who's managed to do that but if I am the poster boy for marriage then I'll accept it. I made the right decision."
Some diehard Bon Jovi fans are far from happy at the price of attending the gigs. Tickets start at around s45 and go up to an eye-watering s1,299 for the platinum ones. You can read the rest of the interview here.
One supporter posted on the band's official website: "The prices of the tickets are ludicrous. You really let us down this time, guys."
Although Jon is concerned at the level of criticism, he is quick to defend the pricing strategy.
He says. "Those tickets are a couple of special package tickets.
"I don't really know what they are, they could be anything. It may be that you get everything and it may be 20 tickets.
"But it ain't the front row and it ain't the front section. It's certainly not gipping anyone else out of anything."
