Jon is like a Thin Mint?
Several of you sent me this article from LA Weekly, and it cracked me up. Love the analogies.
For us, Girl Scout cookies are like Bon Jovi. We were never infatuated with the band. We don't know who played bass, drums, and keys. But we do know John Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora. As far as we're concerned, Thin Mints are John and Peanut Butter Patties are Richie -- the only ones which really matter.
Trefoils are dull granny snacks. The lamely-named Samoas are cloying and overbearing. Lemon Chalet Cremes were recalled last year. Peanut Butter Patties make for a solid Sambora, or second fiddle--crisp shortbread that shatters, a shell of chocolate, and sweet, sticky peanut butter--but the runaway front-cookie of the Girl Scout fleet remains, in terms of taste and popularity, the unparalleled Thin Mint.
SO, if Jon = Thin Mint and Richie = Tagalongs, what are the rest of the guys?

Not a cookie person myself.... as far as I am concerned, just give me my chocolate straight up! Dark and pure...unspoiled by dough and milk! The only reasonable companion is wine!!! Add David or/and Richie and you'll make my day (and night!!!!)
"John" - hmmm. As I have no clue what a Tagalong is, I can't comment on that but Richie being dismissed as "second fiddle" irks me. As does the offhand dismissal of David and Tico's contributions over the years..
Jon as a "Thin Mint" - sometimes he's more like an acid drop.
I had to giggle as a Richie girl when I read this yesterday, because the day before this article had come out, I had bought myself a box of Peanut Butter Patties and didn't even give Thin Mints a thought in my selection choices, lol!
I have no idea what any of these cookies taste like..
I'm offended by this article. That may have been true in the beginning because the lead singer and guitarist are always the most popular people in the band, but now we all know who the keyboardist and drummer are just as much as the lead singer and the guitarist are. And Richie is no second fiddle. And I happen to hate tagalongs. They are too gooy and peanut buttery. But to those who are casual fans and only fans because Jon and Richie are hot, they are the only ones people know!
