Richie's Cake and JB's WPLJ Interview
Yeah I know those things don't really go together, but I'm late for a meeting.
Here are a couple shots of Richie's birthday cake. Absolutely stunning. My mother in law does cake decorating, and I asked her if she could do something like this (though the double-neck Taylor) for me. She hung up on me.
Second, JonBon was on WPLJ this morning. He was on for all of about 5 minutes or so, but the ever lovely Catte streamed it for me AND put it up on the MediaFire so you wouldn't have to wait for it. It's in the Random Bits and Bobs folder; titled as JBJ on WPLJ 7-13-2010.
Thanks to everyone else who streamed and emailed me about it. You guys and gals are the absolute BEST!

According to someone-in-the-know on Twitter, the cake was made by the Cake Boss! Man, I want one for MY birthday...
I have to say I'm a little surprised. There was obviously a lot of work that went into the guitar, seems strange they used two pieces of fondant for the gray-swirl base. You can tell it's two pieces side by side. I've seen Buddy's show. If he did it, I know he could have done one piece for the base. I've seen him do bigger pieces than that. Nice work all around though.
Now THAT's a cake!
Almost too awsome to eat!
It's an awesome cake (one I could never duplicate), but the coolest guitar cake I've ever seen was made by Duff Goldman and crew of Charm City Cakes. The cake was featured on an episode of their show Ace of Cakes, and I believe they went so far as to construct the neck (complete with actual strings) essentially making it playable.
Oh thanks to whoever recorded this and as always thanks to Hath for having the download available. I was listening on my way to work and was hoping someone snagged it. Really love that the cool intro is included too.
when I watch the 1st picture, is there an interview with Richie, too?????????
