Happy Birthday To Me

Yes, yes, yes, gratuitous plug.  I turn forty today.  Or, the way I look at it, I'm 21 with 19 years' experience.

Yes, you read right.  I am too old.  Too old to be in a job that makes me crazy.  Too old to be afraid to try new things, have new experiences.  Too old to be afraid of rejection, of disappointment.

I'm old enough to know better.

So now, at 40, I'm taking stock.

I'm figuring out who I want to be, where I want to be in life, and God Himself can't save you if you stand in my way.

The new me takes no prisoners.

The new me has balls of steel.  Big ones. That clang together when I walk.

Oh I'm not going anywhere.  I'm in this for the long haul.  "Hath" has no problems doing what she wants.  I am going to take a page out of her book.

Unbreakable
Unstoppable
I'm invincible
C'mon, bring it to me.

That's my new mantra.  Take it or leave it or shove it up your ass.

~ Hath

Way to Go for you Hath and I completely get where you are coming from with this. I hit 40 oh about 7 years ago and the 40's have been very good to me. Empowering really - I decided that I was tired of waiting for life to happen. Tired of being afraid, tired of just going through the motion. Tired of being who everyone thought I was instead of who I really wanted to be. Since then I have done things that even suprise myself, met fantastic people ;-) I've said some things and did some others that have raised some eyebrows but no matter what it's been a great ride.
So for you I hope that your 40's treat you right and I say Go Get Em Girl!!!

40 is just a number, Babe. Welcome to the "dark side" LOL. It just gets more fun from here. :)

Happy Birthday, Goddess -- Love ya!

Congrats, Hath! As Catte said, it's just a number it only hurts a couple of days! *g* Now at nearly 42 I can say it's okay. And some days I look at my younger colleges and am glad I haven't to go through there fake problems and can sit back and watch with a little knowing smile!
Make the best of it and wear the scars of life experience with pride! *g*

I love your new outlook on life! Good for you! You'll love all the new confidence you'll have now in your 40's. You won't care as much as what others think, as long as you're happy with yourself. (Too bad we can't feel this way in our 20's...) It's a great decade to be in! Be good to yourself & God bless you with health, happiness & love! Poor Richie...have to feel sorry for him. He has no clue what he's missing out on! =)~

Love & Hugs,
Sterling

I know exactly how you feel - I hit the 40 mark 3 weeks ago. Not a day I was looking forward but hey - life's going on ;-)

I've changed my attitude already a few years back and guess what was the turning point? Becoming a diehard fan of a certain rockband that made me rethink my whole life.
And I'm still riding the wave!!

In this spirit - enjoy your special day. Don't look back but forwards and take life as its fullest !

Happy Birthday! I love the new attitude towards life. I took the motto a few years ago "Its My Life" and I try to live everyday to the fullest. I also try to stop and smells the roses along the way. Being 40 is great! You will love every minute of it.

Congrats Hath!

You're not "old"... You are "chronologically challenged"!
And just like Catte said: It just gets more fun from here. :)

Happy belated wishes from me too. I refuse to act my age as per others' expectations. It works wonders. You're already there!

Gotta ask tho, doesn't the clanging get annoying?

Hugs and happy thoughts!
