Got a case of the nerves?
I don't know how I missed this one. This is "classic David" :)
He explained to New York Magazine how he deals with award-show jitters. This was just after the Drama Desk awards.
David Bryan, the Bon Jovi keyboardist and co-writer of Memphis, which won four awards, relied on necromancy to cool his heels. "We have to sacrifice a chicken, you know, and kill a frog," he said of his pre-awards-show rituals. Also helpful: a long, soothing walk from the nosebleeds. "I guess we forgot to send an e-mail or something," he said, "so I had the cheap seats; we’re all the way up in the back."
Can you see David as a Voodoo priest? I'm not sure I can, he's way too pale :) Hopefully Mr. Bryan will have better seats for the Tony Awards on June 13th. Hopefully too, his nerves will subside, or there will be a plague of dead frogs on the streets of NYC.
