WWWB: Goddess Needs Your Help!

I have conflicting reports.

One pop came up and told me that the documentary, WHEN WE WERE BEAUTIFUL, will premiere Saturday, October 24th at 9 PM ET/PT on SHOWTIME. You can read all about it here.

HOWEVER, as I was doing the happy dance and connecting to verizon.com so I could set my DVR to record the show in case I forget later, I thought to check out Showtime.com. According to that schedule, they're showing Rambo on Saturday, October 24, at 9ET.

Not quite the same thing.

SO, what I want to know is, anyone with Backstage creds, has anyone given the "official" word on this? Or does anyone know someone who works for Showtime?

I really, REALLY don't want to DVR Rambo...

No word yet over on the boards, etc ... but will keep my eyes open about it. I would think that there would be promotion of it ... hmmm...

Maybe its Jon DRESSED as RAMBO -- on the doc? ROTF. lol

Ok or not.

Hmm hopefully there will be an official word soon, you'd think this is something that they'd WANT to promote!

UPDATE ... JUST POSTED!

THERE’S NO HIDING IN THE SPOTLIGHT;

SHOWTIME® TO PREMIERE

BON JOVI: WHEN WE WERE BEAUTIFUL

First-Ever Bon Jovi Documentary Explores a

Band’s Journey through 25 Years of Brotherhood

Premieres Saturday, October 24th at 9 PM ET/PT on SHOWTIME

LOS ANGELES, CA – (September 24, 2009) – Bon Jovi has built one of the biggest success stories in rock music history – now that story will be told by the band themselves. The documentary, WHEN WE WERE BEAUTIFUL, premiering Saturday, October 24th at 9 PM ET/PT on SHOWTIME offers an intimate glimpse at these globally celebrated icons who remain, at their core, a band of brothers from New Jersey.

Directed by filmmaker and photographer Phil Griffin and produced by Academy Award®-and Emmy®-winning producers @radical.media, the documentary was filmed on the road and behind the scenes with the band during their 2008 Lost Highway World Tour, which famously came to a close with a historic concert in New York City’s Central Park. At the height of their success—with another number one album and the number one grossing tour of 2008 in Billboard magazine -- Bon Jovi: When We Were Beautiful reveals the secrets behind this legendary band’s determined and charismatic leader Jon Bon Jovi, and band members Richie Sambora, David Bryan, and Tico Torres.

Threading intimate band-member interviews with scenes of life on the road, WHEN WE WERE BEAUTIFUL vividly portrays how the band made it through the rough patches, how they reach consensus on their priorities, and how Jon leads them with strength and compassion. Avid Bon Jovi fans will find plenty of new reasons to be so devoted, but anyone can revel in this exploration of the work that goes into the success and longevity of this band’s magnitude.

“Throughout the process of working with Bon Jovi, I was amazed at the candor and humility Jon and his band showed me,” said director Phil Griffin. “The result is not a neatly wrapped up bundle of staged interviews and musical interludes, but rather a series of open and sometimes difficult conversations, explored against a backdrop of music spanning 25 years. It is a film about the peace of Tico, the complexity of Richie, the drive of Jon and the brutal honesty of Dave. It is their willingness to share their stories that gives us what I hope is a very human story—that humanity is what I believe has seen this band stand the test of time.”

Bon Jovi has set the bar for more than two decades as one of the most successful rock bands in the world, and was 2008's top touring act in the world, coming in at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Tour chart. Globally, they have sold more than 120 million albums and performed more than 2,600 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 34 million fans. A new studio album, The Circle will be released on November 10th and the new single “We Weren’t Born to Follow” is climbing the radio charts at record speed. In addition to the documentary, Harper Collins will release a 192-page companion book on Oct 27th also titled When We Were Beautiful.

Does that mean they're not releasing it? In which case, which one of you Americans is going to make sure I get to see it one way or another?

Well I was hoping it wasnt going to be on like A&E channel because then we would miss out on the thrill of hearing Jon swear. And he does swear in this movie :) But Showtime is another problem because we don't get it. I have put my husband in charge of insuring that whatever needs to be done is done so that I can watch Ginormous Jovi on the big screen tv. He better come through-his very life depends on it.

Any word of it playing in Canada? I have enlisted the help of a friend with a satellite but nothing yet. GRRRR I hope they air it here.

Jen,  September 25, 2009 at 12:03 PM

I've emailed TMN (The Movie Network) to see if they will show it, since I know they do carry some Showtime programs. I was hoping it would be on Showcase but I don't think that channel is affiliated with Showtime. Us Canadian girls need to get our Jovi on, too!

Anonymous,  September 25, 2009 at 12:55 PM

Thanks Jen. I have been looking on TMN's website and showcase as well (great minds think alike) however I dont see anything. Hopefully they won't forget us up at the North Pole.

Jen,  September 25, 2009 at 3:14 PM

Oh :( .... TMN will not be showing the documentary, though the lady who wrote me back said she had forwarded a request to their programming department for consideration. I've also emailed Showcase on the off chance that they are affiliated, but I'm not thinking they Are. Sigh. I guess I will just have to save up and rent me a hotel room across the border where I can watch Showtime, lol.
