OUCH
I think the drum-major cane would have gone MUCH better with the red jacket, no?
Seriously though, man, I remember my weeks in a brace like that.
Not.
Fun.
At.
All.
Fans are calling him our Superman. Those with harsh feelings for JonBon and the boys are saying this is just one more sign that they're too old for this sh!t, and should seriously step aside and "go away".
For me, it lies somewhere in the middle. Yes, I love the music and the energy of the live shows. But in recent months, between the calf strain, Richie's exhaustion/substance abuse issues, and now this -- maybe there is some sort of Karmic sign reminding them that they're not spring chickens anymore.
Whatever side of the debate you're on, you can't fault the man for trying to keep it together.
Good luck with the rest of the tour, Jon -- you've got some pretty big shows coming up.

he's even sexy with a cane and brace.
I just think since Jon said it has been a while since they have done 150 shows, next tour they should go back to doing their 99-100 shows to give them more of a break:D
I think it is great that something like this does not stop Jon or the band from going on:D
Great for others to learn by.
Shows how dedicated he truly is.
Drum Major Cane + Red Jacket ...
Ok, Hath, that was seriously funny. Can't believe I didn't think of that! ROFLMAO
@Jen I do have my moments :) lol
Have a safe trip; look forward to reading your reviews!

I can list endless reasons for BJ to go away, most of them for their own good. And I have on this blog.
But the age one is just dumb. 50 in this day and age is not old, and is just an excuse to throw lame ageist joke after lame ageist joke. Ageism is another ism ive never understood, especially since everyone ends up there.
I'm not sure age has much to do with it, people 20 years younger than them would struggle with a tour this long. When the schedule was announced I was surprised at how long it was, don't they remember what happened the last time they toured for 2 years? They practically burnt out and nearly split. As much as I love the guys and would go to a show every night given the chance, they need to go away and have a serious rest. Kudo to Jon for carrying on but I do worry he will do himself more damage if he waits until the end of the tour for surgery. Us fans are not more important than the guys' health.
People are now going on a bit too much about how he/they need to take care of themselves and not burn out and rest and whatnot. Why the sudden overflow of advice? So, he stepped wonky and in that split second hurt himself. If it never happened (which could have been just as likely), the fans wouldn't be talking about how they need to take care of themselves or rest, and would probably complain about how they are not doing enough, or long enough, or with enough passion....
