Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Bon Jovi is nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!
Rock and Roll, in all its forms, gives us a microphone to communicate with the world. It has the power to bring nationalities and generations together, to elect world leaders, and to move people. No other art form has the social significance of Rock and Roll. You simply cannot understand Western Culture without taking a serious look at this music.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum exists to collect, preserve and interpret the impact the Rock has made on our world. These stories and the Rock Hall blog explore facets of the myriad ways that rock reaches us.
The inductees will be announced in December, and the 26th annual induction ceremony will be held on March 14 at the Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan. Artists become eligible for nomination 25 years after the release of their first single or album, and the awards are voted on by more than 500 music professionals.
For now, here is the list of nominees from the R&R HOF site:
WE the fandom think they should have gone in last year, and are a shoe-in for this year. We'll see. You still have the critics who say that Bon Jovi hasn't really influenced anyone in the Rock and Roll world, so don't deserve it.
WE the fandom KNOW there will be a hot time in Peru tonight as the guys celebrate their nomination, and are hoping for a high-energy show from the band as they ride the euphoria wave.
Congratulations, Bon Jovi. Well done.

If the r&r hof committee or whom ever decides the inductees does not think that Bon Jovi is deserving of being inducted, then something is very wrong with the world.
Congratulations guys! I was at the RNRHOF in July and was at a loss because there was no tribute to my favorite band :( BUT, they did have one of Jon's motorcycles in the lobby. Think they said it was used in the Blaze of Glory video.
Lucky Peruvians are in for a helluva show I bet! Hope they're big You Tubers! :0)
Our boys do deserve to be in there but the likes of Cooper and Waits should have been in there years ago.
Also as much as I like LL Cool J (mostly from NCIS: LA but also what I've heard of his music) I'm not sure how his rap has made a profound influence on rock.
@blushnscarlet I was there in August, on way home from Chicago concerts. And I got a ton of pics of Jonny's bike.:) There were some photos of Richie at the Les Paul tribute, but that's it. It would definitely be nice to see a real Jovi exhibit there.
But the Bruce exhibit was AWESOME! :)
Catte - I was there on the way to the Toronto shows...lol. I went home again before Chicago. And I can't believe I missed Richie stuff! :0/
