5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake
Queenie dropped this in my inbox this morning. I'm pretty sure I've found my new favorite dessert :) even though it is the most dangerous dessert in the world.
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil ** I'd use melted butter instead
3 tablespoons chocolate chips
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil (or butter) and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! ** (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!
Thank you, Queenie!

I'm going to have to try that!!! I've been buying the Betty Crocker Warm Delights, which are chocolate cake (150 calories each) that are pre-packed, pre-measured and ready to eat in 30 seconds. But this way I can change up the ingredients. YUM!!!
Thanks Hath AND Queenie.
Are you kidding me? This actually works?! You know what I always say, right ... about NYers ... we don't don't cook - we just assemble and microwave. WOO HOO!
PS Gotta write about this in my blog ... I'll post a link back to here. ;-)
Oh no! Now I'm just going to HAVE to try this.
Okay, tried it. Easy to make, the finished product is dense and although it's chocolate, it's missing something even though I did add cinnamon to it. One tip, if you're using chocolate chips, use the mini chips because mine all ended up at the bottom.
It'd be good if I didn't have the Warm Delights around, but they're better.
Sorry, Queenie....
