I haven't seen anything "official" anywhere about the reason why but rumor has it doctors have told him to rest his voice. I could be making that up.

It has been confirmed by www.richiesambora.com, and Luke Ebbin, that he has laryngitis. He has been told not to perform. He is however going to show up in NYC if you bought the Runaway Tours Package, and do a Q&A. Richie has also confirmed it via twitter that this is not a joke.
