New Acquisition

Reports are all over the place (though they are all just copes of the NY Post article) about JB dropping some cash on an 1870 Martin guitar with an extraordinary, hand-painted folk-art guitar case at the American Antiques Show, which ends this weekend at Metropolitan Pavilion on West 18th Street. Bon Jovi, who also bought three World War II photos, paid five figures for the guitar, which was sold by a Chicago dealer.

Now, this guitar isn't [necessarily] what JonBon purchased, but it would be something similar. My brother would give his eyeteeth to play an 1800's Martin. He's not a guitar snob; he'd play anything, including his daughter's screaming purple Hannah Montana guitar lol, but he has soft spots for vintage acoustics. I think Martins are among Eric Clapton's favorite instruments (I don't think you can call them axes if they aren't plugged in) and my brother has coveted one since he was a kid.

Jon, when you get tired of the Martin, I know someone who will take REAL good care of her...
