On February 26, 2009, in NYC, there's a United Nations event taking place called the "UN-Millenium Goal Awards". Some of the artists tentatively scheduled to appear include Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, Akon (who?), Macy Gray, and John Lennon's sons.

PS: To answer the question "What about the Soul dinner?" I would imagine that's why the reporter said "tentatively scheduled". That probably means the organizers talked to someone at BJM who said "we'll have to get back to you". Most likely THAT convo got translated into "sure, sign them up". lol

Akon. Hath ... he was part of the Live Earth concert. I always remember who he is because his back-up singers always sound like the Chipmunks ... and acorn ... Akon...get it?! LOL

Akon is some rap crap guy who performed here in Fishkill NY at a summerfest couple years ago. I remember this because he actually pulled a teenage boy out of the audienc who was being a wise guy and mouthy to him as teenagers will do. Anyway Akon thought it would be a good idea to pick this kid up over his head and toss him off the stage into the audience. I dont think the kid got hurt but Akon was charged and had to appear in court up here a few times. In the end I think he got a slap on the wrist, a small fine and a few hours of community service. But now that is how I will always know him and I think he's a dirtbag loser - IMO of course :)
