NJ Hall Of Fame Induction
The New Jersey Hall of Fame, created by state law in 2005, honors Garden State residents who have made outstanding contributions to their home state, the nation and the world, according to the nonprofit organization.
The inductees were selected using a three-step process. First, 200 nominees were chosen by expert panels in five categories -- historical, general, arts and entertainment, sports and enterprise. Next, six candidates from each category were picked by a committee chaired by Corzine. Finally, the inductees were chosen through a public voting process.
Jon Bon Jovi -- introduced by the governor as "Mr. Jersey" -- was welcomed to the stage by delighted screams from the crowd.
"New Jersey was the place I was born, it's the place I learned to walk, talk and play the guitar," he said. "I'll stack up Jersey to just about anywhere there is."
Before joining Southside Johnny in a rendition of "We're Having Party," Bon Jovi took a moment to recognize the young soldier introduced by Petraeus.
"I'd like top express my gratitude to Lieutenant Brennan for exemplifying what New Jerseyans are about," he said.
There's gotta be a YouTube of that JBJ/SSJ performance :) Right?

Well I know you'll find the YT if it exists! LOL!
Thanks, Hath! Love coming on here for my daily Jovi News. Esp when I'm feeling too lazy to go through my google alerts. I know you always cover the good ones. LOL!
Wow, thanks Hath! I barely got anything, just what I heard from friends. I did get bigger sizes of those pics from a photog's site, though, if you want to snag 'em.
I agree with Tara - I love getting news here. I post on my site when I hear from Backstage, etc. but you always have WAY more info here! :)
I just posted my slightly verbose review of the event. I will (hopefully tomorrow) be able to upload Jon's entire acceptance speech ... which was actually quite funny. It was a long evening, but I had a FABULOUS time!
