Call for Help...
... from my Aussie and British devotees.
Shannon Noll....
His new album...
How is it? I know that Richie worked with him, and had nothing but good things to say about him (at least in the interviews I've read). I'll admit that I only know who he is (he was the second place winner on Australian Idol in 2003) because of the work that Richie did on his record, but that doesn't mean his stuff wouldn't be worth listening to. Can anyone give me a recommendation one way or the other?

Not a clue, the only reason I know who you're on about is because you all talked about him before lmao.
Maybe someone else will have heard ;)
Wow, been ages since I listened to Nollsy...
I know he's releasing an album in Australia in 2009 but that's not out yet. What has come out is a UK-only release called What Matters the Most, which seems to be a compilation album made up of his previous albums plus some B-sides.
His debut Aust release, That's What I'm Talking About is pretty poppy as I recall. Kind of like Crush in that sense. "Drive" and "What About Me" are probably the best off that, though the latter is a lot better live than it is on the album.
Lift is a better album. The aforementioned UK release includes 4 singles off that album. "Lonely" is probably my favourite. "Now I Run" was written about his late father and I like "Lift" as well.
Turn It Up features our man Richie on "Sorry Is Just Too Late". Probably his best album overall, but I'm not that much of a fan of the lead single "Loud". "In Pieces" was probably the best single from that.
No Turning Back is his greatest hits which also features a few new tracks. "Crash" is probably the best of those.
I wouldn't consider myself a massive fan of his but I do have all his albums. He does also have some cool B-sides on his singles, most of which I don't have, but he plays them live sometimes so I have technically heard them.
Not sure if I am answering your question at all but feel free to ask some more and I'll do my best. :)
Not a fan of his voice personally, though some of his stuff is catchy.
