I am pretty convinced that this so-called Fan Concert is connected to the MasterCard Roots of Rock contest where the winners would meet either Jon Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton or Kenny Chesney..."where they started".
It clearly states in the contest rules that the winners will get a meet and greet with applicable artist, a guided tour of concert venue and host city.
Under part (5) of the rules for the MasterCard Roots of Rock contest: (Opt 2): Jon Bon Jovi in New Jersey;
When you read the contest rules it clearly states that there will be a concert.
Well, the only concert we know of is the Fan Club concert in Jon's hometown.
So not only are they making money off the fans (at a rip-off price) they are most likely earning a hefty sum from MasterCard.
It was not like this when Mrs. B ran the fan club...at least you didn't feel ripped off.

I think all I can say about this is....wow.

As soon as it was announced the concert was in Sayreville, there was an assumption it was in fulfillment of the MasterCard contest. The concert was also being advertised on the radio - THAT was more of an insult than the MC thing, for sure.
A friend of mine spoke to someone in the BJ camp and that person described it as the MC show, NOT the FC show.....
Not surprised at all, the show is underwritten by MC, which means the venue and show is already paid for. The FC tix and money collected for that is just gravy in Matt's pocket.
Another reason I'm glad I'm not going....but it still should be an awesome show...even if Richie, David, Tico and Hugh aren't there, which is the first reason I'm not going.
I was going to travel all the way from Australia to see the concert, glad i'm not now, but I've always believed Jon is a business man first, rock star second. His success proves it.
