April Fools!
Yes, yes, yes, it's (what has to be) David's favorite non-religious holiday :) April Fool's Day. I don't do much pranking (mostly because I suck at it -- I'm a terrible liar, and have a non-existent poker face) but found these gems out there in case anyone wants to give them a try...
You can get LOTS of good ideas from LOTS of websites -- these were just a few of my faves.

Put a piece of bubblewrap under the toilet seat so when your victim sits, they are surprised by a loud POP!
Attach magnets to the bottom of an empty coffee cup, and attach it to the top of your car. Laugh at all the people who frantically try to get your attention as you drive by.
Carefully place small water balloons in the toe your victim's shoes. They'll get a wet surprise! (Be sure to only do this on inexpensive shoes.)
Put a few drops of green food coloring in the milk to make it look as if it has soured. When someone pours it in the morning, they will think it has gone bad.

Slippery -- a capella
So, yesterday, the Wanted Wednesday included a track that I found on a bootleg board where the poster had some pretty neat software that all but diminished the music track from the recording, leaving just the vocals. I had SO many responses (both on the blog and in my email) wanting the rest of the tracks.
OKAY already! (lol)
I have the 10 tracks zipped up in a RAR file, and on my mediafire for your downloading pleasure.
Enjoy!

This is a special recording for all Bon Jovi's fans and all the music lovers. Both nights were taped from Jon's IEM with a stereo scanner. The recordings are excellent and close to a soundboard and there are no interferences of anything. On the 1st night we had some problems with the equipment so we ended up not recording the whole concert but we did record the best moments and we added them in here as a Bonus with the 2nd night of which was awesome too.Download Here:
These were 2 great nights in Vancouver. The band was in a great mood and really did excellent performances. Some rare songs were played along with the hits and everyone had a lot of fun .
2 sold out nights that were really worth seeing.
Enjoy it, trade, but don't sell it!

Wanted Wednesday: Interesting Cuts
Please rise for the playing of our national anthem. We've looked at this song acoustic, rockin', Jon, Richie, the band, and Track by Track.
In my travels around various boards, I came across these cuts, which I thought you may find interesting.
Someone with some really good computer software was able to pull this song apart a couple of ways.
First, "No Vocals". Yep, he pulled Jon's vocals out completely, leaving the backing vocals and music tracks. Karaoke for everyone!
Then, he went the other extreme. A capella (mostly). You can hear a little bit of the music under the vocals, but you get Jon and the backing vox loud and clear. I have the whole Slippery record this way if anyone's interested.
Let's Ride!
NO VOCALS
ONLY VOCALS
You can download the files from my Mediafire here.

JBJ/Lea Michele Duet in NYE
Looks like we're going to want to buy the soundtrack to JonBon's new movie, New Year's Eve. Our favorite blue-eyed rocker will be performing at least two songs in the flick, and we all love new music, yes?
As reported by Broadway.com:

As reported by Broadway.com:
Although it's not a musical, Lea Michele will sing in the upcoming New Year's Eve, her first big-screen movie. Director Garry Marshall told Broadway.com that the Glee star and Broadway favorite will perform at least two songs in the still-filming feature, including a big duet with co-star Jon Bon Jovi. "It's quite a number," he said. You can read rest of the article here.
Marshall had high praise for Michele's work on the film. “Lea is just terrific,” he said. “You know, she’s from the Bronx and so am I!” In the ensemble film, Michele plays Elise, a back-up singer for Jensen, a rock star played by actual rocker Bon Jovi.

How Bon Jovi keep's the faith. Analysis
Thanks, Judith, for dropping this story (among others, which are coming in good time lol) in my inbox.
~ Hath
A woman was asked why Jon Bon Jovi is back on top. "He's beautiful," she gasped.
Of course, that should have been obvious.
Yet a male might have scoured around looking for another reason: Bon Jovi's songs have stood the test of time, the group has been well managed, it's been true to itself. Anything.
But there is truth to what she said. It's not for nothing that Jon Bon Jovi has become a staple celebrity on Entertainment Tonight. As superficial and trivial as that TV show is, it follows Bon Jovi more than any other rock 'n' roll celeb.
This in turn can be traced all the way back to 1986 and the album
Slippery When Wet, Bon Jovi's breakthrough album. The lead vocalist's explanation for its success might have been simplistic then, but seems to ring true still. He reasoned that women had discovered the band and that discovery automatically doubled its fan base.
"And where women go," he rationalized, "the men follow."
Evidently, the top touring band of 2010 has found a way to keep that fan base. It's been to the band's advantage that Jon Bon Jovi is a self- confessed workaholic. Even during the band's two hiatuses, dictated by overwork and a need for rest, he has recorded solo albums, maintaining a continuity of nearly 30 years. Also, the band personnel has changed only once in that time, with the replacement of Alec John Sutch with Hugh McDonald in 1994, which has contributed a consistency that fans have come to trust.
Bon Jovi hasn't been fashionable except around the time of Slippery When Wet, when it was the fashion. Every record label wanted a Bon Jovi. For a few years, the band continued to lead. Then, it took a break in 1990 and slipped out of step. In a perverse way, this has meant freedom for Bon Jovi. Instead of chasing after fashion, the band has concentrated on more important things.
This has enabled it to outlast a contemporary such as Cinderella, the grunge movement led by Nirvana, hair bands like L.A. Guns, gossip, or diminishing CD sales, while freeing Bon Jovi to dabble in country-rock or acoustic versions of its hits, expand its range of touring worldwide, promote itself by exploiting new technology, and position itself anywhere it wants. Not trapped by image or time, Jon Bon Jovi has had an acting career and can appear on duet albums with Bruce Springsteen, The Kinks' Ray Davies and others.
The participation in Davies' See My Friends only adds to Jon's profile, while being in the company of Bruce Springsteen underlines his roots. Both Springsteen and Bon Jovi, as well as Springsteen associate Southside Johnny, come from and, pay tribute to, New Jersey. Both got their start in rhythm and blues bar bands but, while the two have diverged, there is still a strong element of R&B showmanship in how they produce a concert or what they do onstage.
The band - Richie Sambora, Tico Torres, David Bryan and McDonald - has built a legacy and been around long enough to witness reassessment.
Glee, a TV show that has become a cultural monitor, this season did a routine based on an early Bon Jovi hit, "Living On a Prayer." By casting the song in a different light, it fostered a renewed appreciation.
Bon Jovi formed in 1983 and was just another big hair and spandex band until 1986 when hits including "You Give Love a Bad Name," "Living On a Prayer" and "Wanted Dead Or Alive" catapulted it to fame and made Slippery When Wet the biggest seller of 1987.
It took a break in 1990 but formed a self-management company in 1991. That was a bold move at the time, but has proven astute by giving Bon Jovi maximum leeway. The band has been able to build itself back up, develop a new audience with the single "It's My Life," take another break with confidence, refresh itself with the acoustic album This Left Feels Right, subtly explore modern country with Lost Highway, and take advantage of new media and technology.
Possibly the only other act that has been so good at promoting itself is the Black Eyed Peas.
Now 130 million albums sold later, Pollstar, a magazine devoted to the touring business, had Bon Jovi netting $70.4 million dollars last year, Billboard magazine placed it at No. 9 of the top touring acts of the decade and current album, The Circle, debuted at No. 1 in the U.S.
In 1992, Bon Jovi released Keep The Faith. It's been true to its word.

How David got to Broadway
From the Columbus Dispatch:
It's a good read. Head over to the Dispatch and check it out!
~ Hath
The road to Memphis - just announced to tour Columbus next season - was a long one for musician David Bryan.
"It took me eight years to get to Broadway, so for me it doesn’t feel like an explosion. It feels like a slow burn," Bryan said.
A founding musician with Bon Jovi who continues to tour with the gold-record group, Bryan made his Broadway debut last season as composer of the bluesy and rockin' score of the 2010 Tony winner for best musical.
So how did a guy who grew up in New Jersey, studied classical music for 15 years, played in a 10-piece band as a teenager and toured the world as a rocker wind up winning the 2010 Tony award for best score in his Broadway debut?
It's a long story, but Bryan was happy to share it in a Dispatch interview.

BonJovi joins GroupMe
In case your texting plan for your cell/smart phone isn't taxed enough with Twitter, Facebook, and other social networking services.
This sounds like an interesting concept, but I'm pretty sure it will blow out my monthly text allottment.
What do you think?
~ Hath
PS: I'm pretty sure JonBon won't be texting anyone pics of himself brushing his teeth, so don't use that as a reason to join (lol)
PS2: I read the headline really fast, and thought it said "GropeMe" not "GroupMe". Now the former is a service I'm sure would get zillions of signups....
GroupMe, the NYC-based mobile group chat startup, is launching a big new initiative today to start bringing brands to its service. Its initial partners include MTV, Oxygen, Bon Jovi, and the Bonnaroo and Coachella concert festivals.Read more here.
Users will be able to create special groups with their friends focused around these brand topics, and then the brands will be able to send those groups information like news, promotions, fan memos, etc.
How does it work?
For example, say you and a bunch of friends are going to Coachella. If you create a special Coachella group on GroupMe, you will all be able to chat with each other as usual, but the festival will also be able to send you information, potentially including news, weather updates, promotions, etc.
You will NOT become part of some huge group about Coachella -- it will still only include the people that you or your friends invite to the group. This way the group has a topic, but won't become a mess.
The "brand" account can also pop into one group at a time, and message the group. So maybe if you're lucky, Jon Bon Jovi himself will pop into your Bon Jovi group and send you a picture of himself brushing his teeth, or something.
This sounds like an interesting concept, but I'm pretty sure it will blow out my monthly text allottment.

Kiwi's Got a New Story!
Brilliant Disguise
Devon Scott owns the upcoming Soho Beauty Clinic Allure. She’s a Kiwi girl that’s made her way living the American Dream and leading a quiet sheltered life, ironically in the heart of New York City. But Devon’s dream life isn’t all champagne and roses. She hides a terrible secret from her past that saw her fleeing from her home country, never to return. She has resigned herself to a solitary life...Until she meets the one man that challenges everything she’s accepted in her new way of life, but can she let him in?
Jon Bon Jovi is the quintessential rock star. He is winding down from the massive Lost Highway tour his band has just completed. He’s still involved in a handful of humanitarian and investment projects but he’s restless and bored. He’s also learning the dating scene is not what it was ten years ago. Reluctant to accept he needs to slow down and take care of himself better, he stumbles across a beauty clinic which ends up providing him with more than he bargained for. The owner is cute and savvy and ultimately steals his heart, but the problem is she won’t give him hers. Jon, who always enjoys a good chase, quickly learns how to push her buttons, but under all that reluctance there was something he could never expect. Something that changes everything.
