For The German Devotees...

Thanks, Kris, for the info!

There's a show on Kabel Eins, it's called "Number One!"

A former MTV veejay is interviewing U2, Depeche Mode...AND BON JOVI! Well, it says "Bon Jovi", but the small explanation blurb mentioned it was only Jon. They also said that Jon nearly stopped the interview...

So, the episode with Bon Jovi will be aired Wednesday November 4th, 22-23:05; two days before the album release in Germany.

Artist In Residence (more info)

From Reuters:
Bon Jovi will be the very first artist ever to appear across the many brands of NBC Universal in a unique "Artists in Residence" partnership. In the exclusive agreement, Bon Jovi's music/appearances/performances will be widely seen and heard across the multiple brands and platforms of NBC Universal.

The "Artists in Residence" project coincides with the November 10th launch of the band's new studio album, The Circle.

The project offers a unique opportunity for NBCU to work with Jon Bon Jovi and the members of the band, through interviews, musical guest appearances, and guest-starring roles, to provide exclusive and compelling content across the company's many brands -- its news and cable information platforms, its cable entertainment, its broadcast network and digital assets -- and allow the band the opportunity to promote The Circle to a broad, diverse audience that can not be matched in the industry.

"By assembling a unique mix of personal appearances on a variety of its brands, NBC Universal has the ability to offer Bon Jovi the opportunity to reach a wide audience in a variety of compelling ways, while at the same time making interesting, exclusive content available to the properties of NBCU," said Gaspin.

As part of the "Artists in Residence" program, Bon Jovi has confirmed appearances on a number of NBCU platforms including:

The special "Bon Jovi Month" on the "Today" show in November during which they will appear live on the program on all four Wednesdays that month, capped off with a special concert performance on the plaza on Wednesday, November 25th.

Several NBC Entertainment programs and be the featured guest on Bravo's "Inside the Actors' Studio."

Jon Bon Jovi will be the subject of a "USA Character Showcase," which will highlight Jon as both an artist and philanthropist in an on-air and on-line campaign.

Jon Bon Jovi will be a featured panelist at a USA Network and Tom Brokaw-sponsored "Characters Unite National Town Hall," about overcoming social injustices, in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, December 2.

Jon will also be featured on NBC's Nightly News with Brian Williams, as well as in the company's award-winning public service campaign "The More You Know" with spots running on NBCU's cable and broadcast networks.

The band's music will also be heavily integrated throughout NBC's network and cable programming.

Yep, definitely Must See TV. I hope all the guys get a crack at TMYK. I think (seriously) that Richie should do one about the perils of overindulging. He's a great example of someone who over-indulged, but turned himself around with the help of family and friends. A great success story, actually.

And my husband is going to TOTALLY hate November (tee hee).

Just a thought...

I Wanna be a Texas Lawyer

Bon Jovi To Play The Lanier Firm's Holiday Party by Erin Geiger Smith at Business Insider

Sometimes the saying is true -- things are bigger in Texas.

The coming holiday season will no doubt bring tales of the scaled-back holiday party -- see you for punch in the conference room!

But that isn't happening at plaintiffs' attorney Mark Lanier's always legendary holiday bash. The kiddies went crazy for last year's performer, Miley Cyrus. But this year it's one for the children of the 80's:

BON JOVI!

The Houston-based firm has not mailed invites, but the party will be December 13, the Tex Parte Blog says.

Rumor had it Paul McCartney would be the headliner. That's a no go this year, but Lanier told Tex Parte that McCartney has not officially said no, so hope is still alive for 2010.

Must See TV

Now more than ever, NBC is the "Must See TV" network for Bon Jovi fans.

JonBon appeared on the plaza at Rockefeller Center today to announce his new partnership with the Today Show and NBC. On a string of Wednesday appearances through November, the band will discuss their lives and music, culminating with the band showing off what they do best: playing their hits live on November 25th.

Bon Jovi’s Today Show house call is part of a novel new project by NBC Universal called “Artists in Residence,” in which the group will appear on multiple programs on NBC and its affiliated cable channels throughout the upcoming month.

Speaking with Matt Lauer, Ann Curry and Natalie Morales on the plaza, Bon Jovi told TODAY he’s a firm believer in the message “We Weren’t Born to Follow” delivers.

“The world changed a year ago, and I think this song in particular exemplifies the human spirit,” he said. “People needing now to pick themselves up by their bootstraps and get back on their feet again. I could not have written this song with Richie a year ago.”

Jon himself says the group, now on its 12th album, recorded material with a decidedly modern, topical bent.

In a recent interview on Japanese television, Bon Jovi said he gathered with his guitarist and longtime songwriting partner Richie Sambora to work on new songs a year ago, but admits the progress was slow moving at first.

“We were writing a couple of boy-girl songs, we were writing a song about rehab, and it wasn’t really going anywhere,” Bon Jovi said.

“And then, between the president getting elected and the economy tumbling as it did and Bernie Madoff and those whole kind of things that happened, our country really sobered up last winter. And these songs started to come.”

But Bon Jovi knows his true calling is still performing with his band on the concert stage — they’ve played a staggering 2,600 concerts in some 50 countries since leaving their New Jersey hometowns to hit the road in 1984. The band will offer TODAY viewers a taste of what their 2010 tour will look like when they cap their “Artists in Residence” month with a Thanksgiving Eve concert on the plaza Nov. 25.

Given the band’s popularity, you might want to start lining up now.

File under: Gotta Love Capitalism

Never let it be said that Bon Jovi turns down anything that would make them money.

There's news from Japan that Square Enix will be tapping Bon Jovi for a commercial campaign to promote the upcoming Wii release of "Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers. ".

Now, before you all run out to try to buy this, Square Enix will be making use of the We Weren't Born to Follow single off the band's new The Circle album in the game's commercials. It's not a theme song, so it probably will not make it into the game itself.

Crystal Bearers hits Japan on November 12. The Bon Jovi commercials will begin airing in late October.

You'll likely have to turn to YouTube for a glimpse of these ads, and I'm relying on the ever lovey @TokyoRockChick from Twitter to keep me in the loop, as this promotion has only been announced for Japan.

Documentary Screen Caps

A nice wake-up visual in my Inbox this morning. Thanks, Devotee T (no, not my writing partner T) for brightening my dreary, rainy Tuesday.

On the plus side, no accident coming into work today :o) Sometimes, you take the wins where you can get them...

"Secret Show"?

According to this Dutch site (and yes, since it's the internet, you have to take it with a grain of salt...) pre-ordering the Circle enters you into a contest to receive tickets to a "Secret Show". How do I know this? No, I can't read Dutch, but the words "Bon Jovi" and "Secret Show" are in English (which made me chuckle):

Bestel nu The Circle, mail je bestelbevestiging naar prijsvraag@bol.com o.v.v. Bon Jovi en wie weet sta jij straks vooraan bij deze Secret Show! Natuurlijk zorgen we ook voor de vlucht en het hotel. Binnenkort maken we bekend waar en wanneer dit concert plaatsvindt. De winnaar krijgt automatisch bericht.

According to my handy-dandy Google translator, it says this:

Buy Now The Circle, mail your order confirmation to prijsvraag@bol.com ovv. Bon Jovi knows and who are you going ahead with this Secret Show! Of course we also provide the flight and the hotel. Soon we know where and when this concert takes place. The winner will receive an automatic message.

Since this is a "literal" translation, it doesn't make much sense, but you can see the gist of it.

Do with this what you will...
