Bobby Says, Tour is 16 Months

source
Bobby Bandiera has just confirmed that his show on Friday, October 16 at 8PM will have to hold us over until he returns from a national tour that will last for at least 16 months.

Hmmm.... isn't there a 16-month 2010 BJ calendar as well? I'm thinking they should come pre-printed with the tour dates; anyone with me?

*adds to the list after the nudie pens and the season tickets*

In other random news, we pre-ordered Lego Rock Band for the Hathlet for Christmas. He is THRILLED at getting to play guitar with Lego Richie!

WWBTF ~ Pumped Up Version?

So, not sure if this is an "actual" cut that's been leaked, or someone playing around with sound editing software, but check this out (it's been floating around Facebook and Twitterville):

We Weren't Born To Follow

I dislike this version even less than the single. It's far less whiny, and a bit more rockin'. A bit. I think it's someone playing around with it because for Richie's solo, you still hear mostly the Beatles-esque version with a hint of the "good one" laid over it, though it's hard to hear. If it were a leaked track, I'd expect the solo to stand out.

In any event, give it a listen (or download; the link is on the site) before it's gone...

Twitter Alert!

That's right, in case you don't spend enough time with your computer or texting on your cell, Obie is going to open a Twitter account.

YES, all the Obie impersonators out there are just that: IMPERSONATORS.

This is straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak:

Hey Obie, theres somebody goin around on Twitter with the username ObieOBrien saying there will be no MSG DVD and tour info, is it you or an imposter? I know you have stated you dont use twitter, but this user is confusing us fans and we would like to know, Thanks

A: Actually, I know that's my picture up there. It's not me. But I am going to open a Twitter account so I can let you know what the band's doing, what I'm doing, what my grandmother is doing, what my dog is doing, what my goldfish are doing, what the guy who's cutting my lawn is doing, and what my Amish neighbor up the street is doing. So we will post it when the official Twitter is going up, that's probably gonna be a couple of weeks from now because I'm very busy driving my hotrods before the weather turns.

Worst Songs of the 2000's

I don't know how valid a poll from Gigwise is, but I found this funny.

They ranked It's My Life as the 43rd-worst song of the decade. Their comments:
Bon Jovi: 'It's My Life' (2000) - Jon Bon Jovi, he of sparkling teeth and perfectly blow dried hair, blasts through this rabble rousing ode to life. Musically vacuous, the lyrics too are so woefully empty it's actually a struggle to highlight a low point.

This, of course, begs a couple of questions.

First, what do you think the worst song of the decade is?
Second, what do you think the worst Bon Jovi song is?

For me, the first question is tough. Mostly because I listen to iPod or XM/Sirius radio all the time. I gave up on commercial radio years ago.

For the second, aside from the whole 7800 Fahrenheit album, I have to ALWAYS skip Homebound Train. The stupid train whistle noises Jon makes has me cringing in embarassment for them.

How 'bout you?

What tops your worst list?

An Evening With Tico Torres...

Tico Torres' wide-ranging talent takes on Miami with an unprecedented retrospective of his fine art.

Since the age of five, Tico Torres has been expressing himself in art as well as in music capturing his feelings and everyday life experiences in paintings, watercolors, sculpture and ceramics. Born to Cuban parents, Torres lived in Varadero, Cuba, where he was surrounded by sights, sounds, history, and heritage. As an accomplished, internationally known drummer with the world's most beloved rock band, Bon Jovi, Tico approaches his art with the same intensity and passion as he does music.

Tico delights in sharing the places that he has seen and the people that he has met through his artwork. His first solo show in Soho, New York was critically acclaimed and an enormous success with over half of the collection sold in just one evening. Since that time, Torres has received rave reviews and requests for shows all over the world. His demanding touring and recording schedule leaves very few opportunities for art enthusiasts to view and collect his powerful artwork.

This rare exhibition is the not to be missed and promises to be the must see show during the Art Basel season.

New Story from TaraLeigh!

Devotion

TaraLeigh starts with the boys and the opening band for the second leg of the SWW tour: Devotion. Among the members are Richie's little sister who has a hankerin' for Jon, and Richie's childhood next-door neighbor who's been in love with Richie since the day they moved in. This will be an epic tale, exploring the darker underbelly of the 80's and the band's various excesses.

I've seen some of this unfold in the writing group we both belong to, and have also thoroughly enjoyed the two prequels to this story. I was VERY excited to see it start to go up.

If you liked Home, you will LOVE watching this story unfold.

Promise.
