Campaign 2012: JBJ in Iowa

(October 5, 2012)

Bon Jovi performed the same four-song set in two different city parks Friday, in Iowa City and Des Moines, on behalf of President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign. Friday’s nightcap in Western Gateway Park, in the shadow of the downtown insurance industry, was a “concert” only by the most generous definition of the word.

You can read the whole article at the Des Moines Register.

I didn't find too many videos, but what I found is below:

Iowa City:
  1. Saturday Night (w/Wanted)
  2. Wanted | Wanted-2
  3. Prayer

Des Moines:

I'll Always Walk Beside You

From RichieSambora.com

Proud son of New Jersey, Richie Sambora, is using his incredible artistry and voice to share the emotional journey of his native state are on in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Richie is releasing a special edition of his song, “I Will Always Walk Beside You,” with musical performances by Alicia Keys on piano, Aaron Sterling on drums and Curt Schneider on bass, along with Richie on vocals and guitars. The track (written and produced by Richie Sambora and Luke Ebbin), a version of which was previously released on his 3rd solo album Aftermath of the Lowdown, takes on new meanings of hope and support in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, when so many have provided aid, financial help and comfort to those in need.

Campaign 2012: JBJ in Denver

(October 6, 2012)

Another stop on the Obama Train.

From The Denver Post:

Singer Jon Bon Jovi serenaded Obama volunteers Saturday during a “GottaVote” event at the Paramount Theater in Denver.

Among those present were Gov. John Hickenlooper, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter and actress Kate Walsh.

“I like coming to Denver because I get to say Hickenlooper a lot,” Bon Jovi told the audience, according to a tweet by Democratic operative Laura Chapin. “Only last name tougher than mine.”

The singer also took part in the official opening of Obama’s Organizing for America’s Lowry field office.

As for reports from Mitt Romney’s operation that Republicans are showing up in droves to volunteer after their nominee’s performance in Wednesday’s presidential debate, Democrats are only to happy to point out their volunteers have been going strong for months.

Campaign 2012: JBJ in Vegas

(October 6, 2012)

At the House of Blues, Mandalay Bay Casino.

The event was part of President Barack Obama's campaign, planned as a get-out-the-vote event in Las Vegas. The event focused on the issues of the presidential election and encourage Nevada residents to vote as early as possible.

I don't know the order of the songs; this is the order in which I found them:

Opening Remarks and Who Says
Someday I'll Be Saturday Night | Saturday-2
Wanted Dead or Alive | Wanted-2
Livin' on a Prayer | Prayer-2

Montage of Songs

And there are lots more photos up in my Photobucket.

Inside Out: Partial Q&A

Watch it quick, before the powers that be pull it :)

The last 20 minutes or so from last night. Not sure how much beforehand there was.

Also, here are some photos from the event.

MasterCard Priceless L.A. Concert

From Extra:
MasterCard is hosting an exclusive private concert for cardholders in L.A., featuring the Grammy-winning band, Bon Jovi. See how MasterCard shared the excitement at The Grove!

Click here for your chance to receive a pair of complimentary tickets to the concert, or access to a livestream of the December 1st show!
So, since I have a MasterCard, I clicked the link, and was greeted by this graphic:

Looks like MasterCard needs the "Him vs. Them" lecture. Priceless.

Anyway, I dutifully entered my email and zip code in the spaces provided. If you do that, you will get an email with a one-time-use link (i.e., no sharing) so you can access the stream, and yet more instructions on how to get your tickets. Lots of hoops. Good Luck!

Soraia: Last Chance for Local Shots!

Thanks to Catte, from the Soraia Street Team, for this information!

~ Hath

Join with JBJ to support Soraia

Soraia is WMMR's Local Shots Featured Artist for November. For the past month five of Soraia's songs from their upcoming record have been available for your streaming pleasure -- a little sneak-peek of great things to come. Through November 30 you can go here and listen to these great songs:

Wild Imagination
Want What I Want
Runaround
Love Like Voodoo
Like a Woman Would

That's half the record, folks. What will we be hearing come the February release of this much-anticipated album? Well, even MORE good stuff, including three songs co-written by Jon Bon Jovi: "Hello," "Good Ain't Good Enough," and "Against the Wall." A little birdie tells me they're FANTASTIC tunes... you definitely won't wanna miss out on this record when it drops. There are also a few more co-JBJ goodies that may surface as bonus downloads and/or b-sides, so stay tuned to Soraia-Land!

But for right now... take a listen to what Soraia has shared via WMMR and make your opinion heard! On Wednesday night (Nov 28) at 6:30 pm(ish) EST WMMR's Jaxon will be debuting a NEW version of Soraia's much-loved cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene." Tune in, turn it up, and let Jaxon know what you think -- not just of "Jolene," but of all the Soraia songs up on the Local Shots blog! If you've seen Soraia live, either opening for Bon Jovi or elsewhere, share your experience.

So far response to Soraia's Local Shots residency has been good -- Jaxon was astounded to hear not just from Soraia fans in the eastern half of the U.S., but also from Canada, The United Kingdom, and New Zealand. JonBon is said to be quite pleased with Soraia's growing popularity, so in this final week an even broader world-wide response will be a great thing! Based on positive audience reaction to the WMMR streaming songs and the upcoming "Jolene" video and single, Soraia will hopefully soon find their way into rotation on local, national, and satellite. And just maybe.... onto a world stage opening for some little 30-year-old Jersey rock-n-roll band.

What can you do? Let WMMR and Jaxon know you support this great band! Listen to Jaxon live on wmmr.com Wednesday night to hear Soraia on the air, listen to the stream, and contact the station:

TEXT - 39333
CALL - (215)-263-WMMR (9667)
EMAIL - jaxon@wmmr.com

And better yet -- tell all your friends and have THEM listen and contact WMMR too!

Soraia will also be LIVE on Jaxon's show on Thursday, November 29th, between 5:00-7:00 pm as part of WMMR's Camp Out For Hunger.

This is a chance for Bon Jovi fans worldwide to make a difference, to help Jon push a project he's passionate about. Why?

Because We Can.

JonBon at VMWare in San Francisco

(August 29, 2012)

VMware Hired Bon Jovi To Rock San Francisco

VMware, the enterprise software company, kicked off the tech party season in San Francisco last night with a private rock concert by Bon Jovi.

The party capped off VMworld, VMware's user conference.

This season's trend is famous rock stars from the '80s through the past decade. After Bon Jovi, Salesforce.com will feature Red Hot Chili Peppers in September, followed by Pearl Jam and Kings of Leon at Oracle's conference in October.

Attendees at these enterprise software conferences tend to be IT professionals with a few years under their belts, so the retro bands are a good fit.
*snicker* at JonBon being a "retro band" :)

Read more at Business Insider's website.

I don't have the "full setlist", but have found videos of these songs (posted in no particular order):
  1. So You Want To Be a Rock and Roll Star
  2. You Give Love a Bad Name | Bad Name-2
  3. Ain't Nothing But a Party
  4. Oh, Pretty Woman | Pretty Woman-2
  5. Lost Highway
  6. Wanted Dead or Alive | Wanted-2
  7. Bad Medicine | Bad Medicine-2 | Bad Medicine-3 | Bad Medicine-4
  8. Teenage Wasteland
  9. Under Pressure | Pressure-2
First 5 listed songs here

And there are a bunch of photos up on my Photobucket.
