Mid-Day Motivators: WTF Bro?
LOL Bay.
This reminds me of the Richie boot where he's trying to play The Answer, and his guitar is out of tune. He spends a few minutes tuning it, and is chuckling throughout.

Some pictures, sent to me by various folks (thanks Liz, Queenie, Catte, Kiwi) that they culled from Twitter/instagram/wherever. I think they're all Luke Ebbin's photos.

A Jon story.
He never really knew what he wanted until she came into his life. Every time she trusted someone with her heart, they gave her a reason not to. Then he came in and changed everything.

A New Year's Message from JBJ
As posted on the Bon Jovi Facebook page:
I know which team I'm rooting for.
Dear Jon -- I think a rematch of that horrible 2008 Superbowl is in order. When the Pats make it in, we're throwing a party at Casa de Hath -- feel free to swing by.

Greetings to all. Happy 2012! I hope everyone had a fine holiday and that you're all ready for what we hope will be an exciting 2012.
Since we spoke last I've been informed that over 15 million Bon Jovi followers are out there monitoring our activities. Thanks. Considering we're not actively touring and don't have a record out that is amazing. The Circle Tour was beyond our wildest dreams. 4 million of you saw the tour and made us the biggest tour on the planet in 2010 and #2 in 2011... it's only fair we let some of the other bands have some of your attention in 2012 but don't worry, we are writing up a storm and have a really good record coming together. Richie and the guys are all happy and healthy. At least that's what they tell me...
Thanks for the posts regarding my blogged demise. As I write this I am very much alive but I died online December 19th, 2011 and it was a wild 60 minutes. Fortunately my family was all together when the calls came in and we quickly dispelled the rumors. Besides all the well wishes 'dying' is soooo overrated. We all have so much to live for so make the best of each day.
In 2012, I look forward to the Soul Kitchen helping those who in these difficult financial times need help from their neighbors. Remember, a helping hand up is not a hand out. Empowering your neighbor is not entitling them. You'd be surprised how many people today are either in need or on the verge of economic assistance. WE have the power to make a difference. Find something or someone that moves you... you can make a difference and I promise it will make you and that neighbor in need feel something magical. Don't fall into the negative. Don't assume the press or those in the media know better or know more. Follow YOU. Partisanship, is just ignorance in disguise.
Ok, enough of my thoughts. It's time to go to work. I'll fill you in on any one off shows like Bamboozle in Asbury Park as the dates come together. Until then root for your favorite team, who ever that may be and look out for your favorite band, we know who that should be.
See you round... JBJ

Bergman Interview
Thanks to CatteSambora for this information.
David Bergman did a call-in interview with his old buddy Silverman on Sports. It's about 30 minutes long, and can be found here..
The interview is mostly about football and photography, but (of course) there's a little Bon Jovi in there as well. Catte edited out the About-Bon-Jovi parts, and put that up on my mediafire, here.
Some highlights:
- The story of the "Death Pic" from the mansion
- Stephanie was (apparently) the first one to get the call - "Hey Dad, you're Dead"
- A little more about photography tips for Jon
- Nothing official but Bon Jovi will likely "go back out" in 2013
- Shout-out to "all the Bon Jovi fans listening" (and shameless plea by Silverman for Bon Jovi fans to follow him on Twitter)

Mid-Day Motivators: Who Said
Sorry everyone -- I thought I had pre-posted these to last through my vacation, but clearly not. Never fear, Bayaderra has a whole slew of new ones ( and I still have some older ones ) to get us through the next little while.

David Q&A
Durham Performing Arts Center has a brief interview with Memphis Composer (and our favorite curly-haired Keys Man) David Bryan:

What attracted you to write the musical MEMPHIS?
The story. It’s an epic American tale about the birth of rock & roll, I just love that we not only portray one of the first white DJ’s to integrate the radio, but we also dramatize an interracial love story (when it was against the law in many states to have a interracial marriage). Ultimately, it’s a story about how music helped bring about social change, and how this music helped bring people together.
Can you describe a most enjoyable part of writing a Broadway musical?
There are so many phases a show goes through and I love them all. It starts with Joe and me in a room, then we add actors for a reading, then we add a director, choreographer and creative team to put a production on stage. Then we’ll try out the show with a few out-of-town productions before we bring it to Broadway. And all this time, we’re constantly tinkering with every aspect of the show. We don’t stop until we feel we’ve gotten it right. Or, as I like to say, until we no longer feel as if we’ve gotten anything wrong.
What new musical are you and MEMPHIS collaborator, Joe DiPietro, working on now?
Joe and I have a new original show in the works called Chasing The Song. It’s about American songwriters from 1962-1964 based on the songwriters who worked in the Brill Building. It’s a fictional story about factual America. We’ve already written a bunch of songs and have a great script. We’re at the beginning where it’s just Joe and me in the room, but soon we’ll be ready to get to the next stage of development. We’re looking forward to creating and building a brand new work.
