Mid-Day Motivator: Nice Banner
OK, so, what's the best/worst banner you've ever seen at a show?
My least favorite was held aloft by someone with a hard-on for Captain Crash. Even throughout Richie's solo, the dude (or dudette) held it high, and RIGHT in my line of sight.

Tico Interview
From the little style file:
~ Hath
Not sure when this interview was given (although post-2009 is a good bet) but it's cute.
TLSF: When did the concept of Rock Star Baby first develop?
TICO: Rock Star Baby first started in 2000, then later revamped and released in Europe and USA in 2009.
TLSF: How were you able to maintain your rock star style after becoming a parent?
TICO: Being a musician is a life style and labor of love, like any other profession it has it ups and downs, For me it’s being away from my son… I’ve always tried to not let the celeb lifestyle envelope my life.
TLSF: What is your favorite fatherhood moment?
TICO: Everyday I see something in my child that makes me proud!
TLSF: What are your must have baby/kid items?
TICO: A must have, is my first born baby sets… all the clothing should be of best quality and easy to put on and take off.
TLSF: How does your son influence your style?
TICO: In my eyes, Kids are naturally cool, they are pretty perceptive to there surroundings. When a new style comes out i like to ask my son if he likes it or not..
TLSF: What are your fashion tips for dads?
TICO: The reason for starting RSB is so dads can have a place to shop for the kids, ”Its totally a man friendly line.”
TLSF: The Little Style File knows that kids have their own sense of style – how do you influence your child’s style?
TICO: By exposing my son to what I believe is cool. Kids develop there style via there parents manner of dress.
TLSF: What is your favorite thing to do with your son?
TICO: Painting pictures together and fishing.
TLSF: We have to know – what is the bedtime for a rock star’s son?
TICO: 8 PM Sharp!!!

Richie Interview
From Biker's Bash (and DecoDrive on WSVN channel 7 in Florida). Forgive the video quality -- I streamed it on my PC.
Some take-aways from the interview?
Richie REEEEEEALLLLY likes the beach. A lot. And boats. And the ocean.
He's written 35 songs in the last couple months -- working on his solo album. WHEN IS IT GOING TO BE DONE?? (lol)
And if you catch the last few seconds of the video, you can hear the words to "Fallen From Graceland". C'mon, someone out there has GOT to have that on video, no? Please?
Well, I guess we can watch his performance of Prayer...

Wanted Wednesday: December 16, 2011 - Gothenberg

Please rise for the playing of our national anthem.
What can I say? I love the puppy years. Love the years when Richie didn't care if he played a hundred zillion extra notes, and gave us long intros. This intro is very similar to the show we featured last week -- but seeing as how THIS show only occurred 10 days later, I'm not surprised :)
The gut-clencher moment in this one? Jon's little breathless parting remarks...
I swear to god I'd drive all night long...through the pouring rain...the snow...just to get back home. Just to get back home. Just to get back home.
Sigh.
Let's Ride!
As always, this track is up on my Mediafire.

Bamboozle Music Festival
Reported in the Asbury Park Press:
You can read the rest of the article here.

The Bamboozle Festival, which has grown into a music institution since its inception in 2003, will return to its birth city here in May with rocker Jon Bon Jovi headlining the three-day event.
John D’Esposito, Live Nation talent buyer and founder of the Bamboozle Festival, said Monday that it was time to return here, and the City Council last Friday agreed to sign an agreement for the 10th annual festival to be held on the city’s waterfront May 18, 19 and 20.
The event began in Asbury Park, but by 2006 moved to the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford.
So far, Bon Jovi, one of the top-touring acts in the music business, and the festival’s other headliners, California pop-punkers Blink-182 and the Foo Fighters, a top-selling rock band formed in 1994 by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, have been announced as performing.
The festival promoter at this time is offering only three-day ticket packages, which go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday for $190 plus applicable fees. For more ticket information, visit www.thebamboozle.com.

Home Fires
It's Christmastime again, which means that the ever-lovely TaraLeigh has written another short Tessa/Jon story for us.
Some notes from the author:
The plan is Twelve days to Christmas...and 12 days of story. There may or may not be a post for every day. But it will end on Christmas. =)
It's Christmas 2011 and Tessa and Jon are having trouble connecting. They have to remember that schedules, family, and music are only part of their lives...and that the home fires are always burning.
Enjoy!

The Story Behind JBJ's Advil Endorsement
From Forbes:
Rocker Jon Bon Jovi–whose movie “New Year’s Eve” comes out tonight–is doing his first verbal endorsement of a product in an ad campaign in his 30-year career with TV spots for Pfizer’s Advil.
The TV ad, which broke today, was shot in Red Bank, N.J., at the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Kitchen, a non-profit community kitchen that opened in October as an initiative of the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, of which Advil is a sponsor.
During a tour last year, Bon Jovi–No. 8 on this year’s Forbes Celebrity 100 list–injured his calf muscle while performing on stage in New Jersey. In a later interview, he explained that he uses Advil for aches and pains related to touring and performing. He tells his own story in the Advil TV ad, joining other Advil users who similarly share their testimonials in the latest campaign.
Brian Groves, VP-CMO of U.S. Consumer Healthcare at Pfizer, talked with me today about the new campaign and why Jon Bon Jovi was the right fit.
Why Jon Bon Jovi?
He’s a fantastic icon in American pop culture and we love incorporating him into our “Real Advil Stories” campaign because while he’s a celebrity, he’s also a real guy. He is a very recognizable real guy. This is the first time that Jon has verbally endorsed a brand that he uses in his life in a TV commercial.
How did you make it happen?
He hurt his calf on stage during a concert and he was telling a reporter about it and how he was taking Advil, so our team contacted his team to see if he liked this idea and he graciously accepted. Our team presented Jon with the “Real Advil Stories” campaign. Jon’s a unique individual for a lot of reasons, but he’s not unique in his pain suffering. We liked mixing a guy who was a very regular guy in his personal life in this “real stories” campaign, and we think he’s been a terrific fit.
[The campaign is] not just about celebrities by any stretch. Jon’s ad is the fifth in production and only two–one with Jon and one with Regis Philbin–incorporate the celebrity component. The celebrities are acting as recognizable, real people with real pain.
Why hadn’t he done any product endorsements in 30 years?
I think it gets back to his being an authentic entertainer and actor and philanthropist. I’m sure his time is very precious to him. I haven’t talked to him specifically about why he hasn’t endorsed other brands, but we’re delighted he endorsed Advil.
How does his brand align with yours?
Jon is an authentic American icon, as is Advil, and Jon’s brand, in his entertainment life and his business and philanthropy, appears very focused on solving problems and getting right to the point and that’s how we feel about Advil. It is an authentic American icon that gets right to the point of relieving the pain and giving people the freedom to get back to their very busy lives, and that’s what the campaign is focused on.
What’s your overall philosophy on celebrity in advertising?
We don’t have a stated philosophy on celebrities endorsing our products. Where we see opportunity for synergy and partnership, we take advantage of that marketplace opportunity. The Advil situation is specific to Jon’s use of the product in his busy life and his not wanting to slow down. The “Take Action, Take Advil” tagline lines up perfectly with Jon’s brand. He was already a heavy brand user and agreed for the first time to endorse a product on television like this.
Is any payment from this going to his charity?
Advil does support the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.
