More from the Soul Kitchen Opening
From ABC News (thanks Mys!):

There are also a whole slew of pictures (somewhere around 80 of them, thanks, Catte and Kiwi!) for your viewing pleasure!
The link to the Photobucket album with all these in it is here.

The menu may have gumbo, cornmeal crusted catfish and carrot cake with lemon cream frosting. But the main dish served at Bon Jovi’s experimental new restaurant is hope.
If you cannot afford to eat, still come,” said the rock ‘n’ roll superstar. “We are open to any and everyone who wants to volunteer.”
The Soul Kitchen, inspired by the adage “teach a man to fish” and spearheaded by the Bon Jovi family, opened in gloomy Red Bank, N.J.
With no prices on the menu, the Soul Kitchen provides meals to anyone who has earned them through volunteer hours.
”At a time when one in five households live at or below poverty … we believe this is a time for this restaurant,” said Bon Jovi.
“The Soul Kitchen is meant to serve people in need who will then donate their time. We are not a soup kitchen.”
Bon Jovi hopes the restaurant, which took two years to come into fruition, provides a new model for community empowerement, and hopes to see his dream spread to other communities.
”This is a place for this community made by our community. This is America. We can fix these problems.”

JBJ Soul Kitchen -- Launch!
So by now, you know the "surprise" was a stream of the JBJ Soul Kitchen opening. The remarks were all lovely and heartfelt, and I managed to figure out how to stream Jon's remarks. There was a glitch in the feed (of course) just as Jon was taking the stage, but 98% of his words are here in case you missed it.

Wanted Wednesday: October 15, 2002
Please rise, for the singing of our national anthem...
Have I mentioned that I love acoustic stuff? Well I do. I couldn't find a boot in my collection from "today", so I'm going with a "this week in..."
This track is from a Bounce-era radio interview with KC101 in Connecticut.
The only lines Richie's got is the "I've been everywhere" bit, but damn, when his voice crackles a little? *delicious shiver* Super clear, awesome rendition.
Let's Ride!
The track (on its own) is on my mediafire as a flac file and as a mp3.
This is really a great boot, and I think everyone should have it. Interspersed with Q&A interviewy-type-stuff, here was the set list:
Everyday
Misunderstood
Prayer ‘94
Someday I'll Be Saturday Night
Wanted Dead Or Alive
Bed Of Roses
Woke Up This Morning (Alabama 3 cover)
Blood On Blood
I'll Be There For You
Never Say Goodbye
Bad Medicine
The bootleg will be availabe for around 90 days from TODAY at this link.
(If you're reading this waaaaay later than "today" and the link is no longer valid, please send me an email and I can re-post. I have free Megaupload, which only keeps the links 90 days from last download)

JonBon in Orlando
Thanks, DRK for the info, and Catte for the video links!
A friend was at a conference last night in Orlando. He was attending a Gartner Consultant Confernce. They attended an event at the Hard Rock Sponsored by Versata--based in TX. Jon Bon Jovi and Friends were the headliner. They played to a crowd of 1500 for and hour and a half, finishing up around midnight. I am waiting for pictures . . . he was trying to find someone who had good shots ~ DRKUpdate: Catte and I found more videos. This is not a "set list", but rather a listing of videos we found. If anyone has an actual set list, that'd be awesome.
Closing Out Fashion Week?

Update from Nikki (thanks Jan):
Afternoon my lovely gems. I can finally take a breather for a moment and as I do I wanted to inform you all that there is a good chance that we will not in fact do the fashion show on this upcoming Friday. Our schedule is very hectic and Riche and I always want to give our all into anything we do. Thank you in advance for your support. xoxo

White House Council Meeting
Call me a Bad American, but I am not a Poli-Sci geek, and cannot for the LIFE of me sit through the three-plus hours of this session. (read as no, I'm not going to go through it and cut out JBJ's remarks)
However.
If you are so inclined...
