Mid-Day Motivator: Vote for Me

I guess that would be one way to get votes...

Too bad he didn't say something like that prior to the VMA voting *ducks from flying debris*

An Evening at the Ballet

The New York City Ballet held its season-opening gala on Thursday, but the biggest star at Lincoln Center was not a dancer or the choreographer or even the many celebrities in attendance.

Rather, the big star was the composer, rock star Paul McCartney, who worked with choreographer Peter Martins on "Ocean's Kingdom," a new, underwater-themed ballet.

"Ocean's Kingdom" is a love story about a sea princess and her star-crossed romance with a prince from the earthly realm.

Um, isn't this the story of the Little Mermaid?  Ocean's Kingdom will be released as an album next October.

Explore Tico's Kit

Rhythm ventured to Bristol to meet drum tech Joe 'JD' Dorosz who gave us a guided tour of Tico Torres' latest Bon Jovi kit.  Check out what he has to say about everything from the custom finish and specially coated Paiste cymbals, to the Oxygen mask Tico uses between songs during a long set.

Rhythm is the UK's best-selling drumming magazine.

Lisbon "Live Stream"

So the stream from yesterday.  I didn't get to watch it, as it's blocked from work, but from the Twitter accounts and emails/facebook, etc., it sounds like the show was cut -- that not everything was played?

Why?

Seriously.

Why?

And they didn't cut Who Says, they cut some of the rarely-played tracks.

*sigh*

In any event, the ever-lovely Serpephone streamed the show and is posting it to her YouTube.  The first four parts are up, with more to come.  I'll update this post with the other links as they come available (or tomorrow, if work gets too evil today).

JonBon at Obama Fundraiser

According to Bloomberg and Page Six, Jon and Dorothea attended an Obama fund-raiser Monday night:
President Barack Obama told a group of wealthy New York donors who could pay higher taxes under a plan he announced hours earlier that he is in “a battle for the hearts and minds of America” and needs their continued support.

“We were able to pull this economy out of a great depression,” Obama said of the recession, speaking to a gathering of 60 contributors tonight at a $35,800-per-ticket ($5k to Obama's reelection fund and the rest to the DNC) event at the New York home of Ralph Schlosstein and Jane Hartley. At the same time, he said unemployment is too high nationwide and more relief is needed for “ordinary folks.”

Schlosstein is chief executive officer of Evercore Partners Inc. Hartley is chief executive officer and co-founder of the economic and political advisory firm Observatory Group LLC. said.

Donors at the event included the singer Jon Bon Jovi and Peter Orszag, vice chairman of global banking at Citigroup Inc. and Obama’s former director of the Office of Management and Budget

Caught on Set

From Caught on Set:
Hilary Swank and Jon Bon Jovi are spotted doing some reshoots for the ensemble romcom New Year’s Eve in New York on Saturday (September 17). Also spotted on set was director Garry Marshall - check out the pics in the gallery.

Primary filming for the movie – in which the lives of several couples intersect over New Year’s Eve – stretched from February to April earlier this year. Marshall must not have been happy with some of the shots, hence the reshoots.

Look for the film’s release on December 9.

Bergman App for your iPhone

I know, it's technically the "Bon Jovi: World Tour" app, but let's be honest: David Bergman's gorgeous photography is the focus of this app.  JonBon provides an audio commentary and introductory message, and there are some "behind the scenes" tidbits tossed in for good measure.   There is a music aspect to the app, in that there is a customizable player which includes a "shop the Jovi catalog" feature, but it's essentially a photo album for your iPhone.

With photos like these, though, it just may be worth it.

iOS iPhone

Jon Bon Jovi and select members of the crew narrate this exclusive audio tour of Bon Jovi's sold-out world tour, 144 dates that began in Hawaii and ended in Portugal. This app also features a special collection of Jon's favorite photographs from the road and a customizable Bon Jovi music player. Never before have fans had this level of access to the Bon Jovi live experience. Inside the app:

- Audio commentary from Jon Bon Jovi and photographer David Bergman
- Photographs by acclaimed “action photographer” David Bergman
- Customizable music player
- Introductory message from Jon
- Behind-the-scenes facts and figures

From the front row to backstage, you have never seen Bon Jovi this close.

Welcome to the inner circle.

Please rise, for the singing of our national anthem...

We take a trip into puppy town today. This show was from my 17th birthday. If I recall correctly, I spent that evening doing homework (lol)

Oh that I could have had a different coming-of-age/teenage experience.

Let's Ride!

And of course, as always, you can download from my mediafire.
