I think everyone knows that JonBon and Coach Bill have a great friendship. The NFL Network is running a 2-part documentary on Coach Bill, and there has been lots of local to-do about the whole deal. In the first part of the documentary, which aired last night, there's a brief appearance by our JonBon.
If you want to see that part of the docu, The ever-lovely CatteSambora has recorded it, and cut the JBJ part (about 3 1/2 minutes of Training Camp) into its own clip, and uploaded it to my Mediafire. You can get it here.
Here are some stills from the video clip, to whet your appetite:
Something else fun that Catte dropped for us is a brief interview by CBS Boston's Toucher & Rich, with Ken Rogers (the producer/director of the documentary). He talks about the film and what it was like to be around Belichick for a year. They also went on to discuss Belichick’s friendship with Bon Jovi. How much is Bon Jovi in this film and is he Belichick’s favorite person in the world? There is no JonBon in this audio clip, but it's a fun little listen. The whole thing is up on CBSLOCAL.COM, and the JBJ-referencing part is here on my Mediafire. Thanks Catte!!!

Bobby!
Eight-year Bon Jovi guitar player Bobby Bandiera will take the stage at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday at 4 p.m. for a benefit for Alternatives for Children, a pre-school for developmentally delayed children.
Bandiera’s grandson, Mateo, of East Quogue, is a student at the school’s Southampton location and has a pervasive developmental disorder (PDD-NOS).
Bandiera's son also has autism.
“I am fortunate enough to have a very talented musician for a father,” said Bandiera's daughter, Carli Bandiera Rodriguez, who added she didn’t have to do much except make a phone call to get her dad, who lives in New Jersey, to do the concert.
“My father is thrilled to be able to put on this concert to help out his grandson’s school,” she said.
Not only has Bandiera played with Bon Jovi, he has also performed with Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, B.B King, and Stevie Wonder. He is also a veteran member of Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.
You can read the whole article here, at the West Hampton / Hampton Bays Patch.

Tico to Participate in the Alfred Dunhill Championships
The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, which celebrates links golf at its finest, is played over three of the world’s best known and respected links courses – the Old Course at St Andrews, the Championship Course at Carnoustie and the highly regarded Kingsbarns Golf Links. The Championship this year takes place from September 29 to October 2.
With a prize fund of US$5 million, the championship incorporates two separate competitions - an individual professional tournament for the world's leading golfers and a team event in which the professionals are paired with some of the most celebrated amateur golfers which creates a unique atmosphere.
According to the Championship's website, Tico will again be one of the amateurs participating in the event.
The course will be closed to the public from September 24 until October 2, 2011 (according to an article on WorldGolf.com) but they also say that Tico is the "former Bon Jovi drummer", so take what they say with a grain of salt.
Entrance to the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship will be FREE at all three courses on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. A ticket price of £15 (concessionary £10) will be charged for the final day’s play over the Old Course on Sunday, October 2. Entry for under 16s and students is free.
For ticketing and other information, check out the Kingsbarns Golf Links website or that of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championships.

America the Beautiful
A couple more candid shots -- these from the cell phone of the director of the JBJ segment of the "NFL Kickoff 2011: Back to Football Special" that aired this past weekend. The blog at NFL Films has this:

This week, NFL Films’ cinematographers taped a performance of “America The Beautiful” by Jon Bon Jovi at a New York City firehouse. You can see the final, edited piece during tonight’s “NFL Kickoff 2011: Back to Football Special” on NBC at 8:00pm EST. For more about the show, click here.
This segment was special to everyone involved, as Jon Bon Jovi performed this same song, at the same firehouse, ten years ago. The performance aired prior to kickoff of the first NFL games played after September 11th.
The segment’s Director, Charlie Askew, grabbed a few photos with his cell phone in between shoots.

Lisbon Stream September 21
Great news from BonJovi.com:
I have to say, while I'm excited about this, and am looking forward to trying to catch some of it while I'm at work, why not also just press the damn thing and give it away? They must have the lists from TicketBastard and other ticketing agencies in addition to their own records -- if you bought a ticket to a show this tour, you get a DVD. One DVD per person, per address.
Or maybe tie it to a $5 donation to the JBJ Soul Foundation.
Or offer the damn thing as a free download (it's not like it's not going to be streamed and shared anyway).
These are ideas just off the top of my head at 5:30 in the morning as I'm dashing out the door to catch my train to the city.
Someone with more time could come up with even better ones.

Wanted Wednesday: For The Kids
Please rise, for the singing of our national anthem...
Why should your littlest tot be denied the Jovi you love just because it may be too loud for her tiny ears? Why should your child be forced into listening to Barney, or The Wiggles? No longer will Baby Einstein be the only thing proper for your child to listen to as he drifts off into dreamland.
No, now your child can listen to a kinder, gentler Jovi.
Wanted.
Lullaby style.
*shhhh* let's ride!
And of course, as always, you can download from my mediafire.

Sorry, I couldn't resist this one. It was just too cute to pass up :)
