Steen Presents Bon Jovi with Blues Guitar

The St. Louis Blues' official website has this article posted (it was posted Monday, I just found it today):
Blues forward Alex Steen and Blues CEO Mike McCarthy presented Bon Jovi with a St. Louis Blues themed guitar on Sunday to commemorate the band's first performance in St. Louis in more than a decade.

The guitar was autographed by Blues Hall-of-Famers Al MacInnis, Bernie Federko and Brett Hull and featured a plaque that reads:

Bon Jovi Live 2011
Welcome to the Home of the Blues
Scottrade Center, St. Louis, MO
May 22, 2011

The guitar was donated on behalf of the Amadeus Steen Foundation, a non-profit organization that benefits underprivileged children in Manitoba. The organization was established in 2007 in memory of Steen's brother, who died of a heart condition at a young age. The foundation has raised more than $1 million to improve the lives of children and will be auctioning off more NHL-themed guitars in July.

A Tribute to Phil X

... on YouTube.

Thanks again, Phil, for doing such a phenominal job.  You filled those big shoes quite admirably :)

Thanks Catte, for dropping me the link on this -- it makes me smile, too :)

Mid Day Motivators: Almighty

LMAO Bay.  Is there any adjective you could apply to Jon that you can prefix with 'just'?

Resplendent Randomness: JBJ/Versace

A Crush-era red carpet interview with Jon.

The uploader disabled embedding, so you'll have to go to YouTube to see it.

Jon talks about the Old House of Versace vs. the New (when Donatella took over) as well as his thoughts on "The Coming Millenium".

Thanks Tara, for the link, and for the tip:  Pay close attention to the end of the video -- to Jon's and Dorothea's hands.  How much in love are they?  And how great does Dorothea look?

*sigh*

Holiday Plans?

According to some articles and some "general Jovi knowledge" (lol) there are plans for Mr. Jon for the upcoming holidays.

Memorial Day:

Southside Johnny is playing Stephen's Talkhouse in Amagansett (out on Lawn Guyland) on Friday.  JBJ and Dorothea usually in attendance when Southside's in the Hamptons for Memorial Day Weekend.  He's said in the past that he typically spends the weekend out at the manse when Southside's playing.

Catte, you asked if I was going to be in the area -- we non-rich folk steer clear of the Hamptons on the major holiday weekends -- especially Memorial Day.  That's the weekend when most of the city folk go and open their summer places.  People all over the damned place -- you can't get anywhere without bumping elbows with a zillion people.  Besides, it's my baby bro's birthday bash this weekend.  *sigh*   I'll put my MIL on the case though :)  She knows practically everyone out there in Amagansett :)

Fourth of July

The Family Vacation Critic blog is reporting that JonBon is scheduled to play at Macy's 35th annual fireworks show in NYC.
No one does big like New York City, and this year will be the 35th year of Macy’s world-famous fireworks show. The show will begin with a number of famous performers, including BeyoncĂ©, Jon Bon Jovi and Mariah Carey before the six barges around Manhattan loaded with fireworks detonate the country’s largest fireworks display. While the concerts will take place near Macy’s 5th Avenue, the best views of the fireworks are from the river. If you can’t make it to the Big Apple, NBC airs the show for a taste of what your family is missing.
That's a mighty busy travel week, there, Jonny-boy.  Dublin to NYC to Istanbul --  OH MY!

And if he's going to be in NYC for the fourth, why spend part of the week at the AT&T National Golf Tournament in Philly (Aronimink)?  The Soul Foundation will again be one of the beneficiaries of the golf event -- suppose Jon would put in a photo op appearance?  I mean there is a WHOLE week between Dublin and Istanbul -- plenty of time...

Busy, busy, busy...

Wanted Wednesday: New Meadowland Stadium, May, 2010

Please rise for the playing of our national anthem.

Has it really been a YEAR since I traveled to the home of the New York Football Giants for two nights of fun (I had other obligations night 3 -- stupid family stuff lol)

What a time that was.

The first night, FM and Iris upgraded their tickets so GAVE us our 1st section, David's side. Damn we were close. Closest I've ever been at any rate.

Second night, out in the stands, waaaaaay out but no less amazing. TORRENTIAL rain on night 2, Wils and I sported gorgeous plastic bag dresses (they were mid-calf length -- no lie) and we have memories that will last forever.

That's the magic of this band. Helping to build memories. Forever memories.

Let's Ride!

Night 1:

Night 2:

Night 3:

The three songs can be taken from my Mediafire here.  You can find videos, and relive the shows of nights 1 (May 26), 2 (May 27), and 3  (May 29) of last year's New Meadowlands Stadium shows on the BJCT Blog.

Mid Day Motivators - What?

Yeah, Bay, the guy does look good in a hat.  Sorry though; IMO, still doesn't compare to The Man in his Stetson...

On This Day...

...In 1988, Jon Bon Jovi joined Bryan Adams on stage as Adams gave an impromptu performance at a Vancouver nightclub. All 900 tickets for Adams's show, which wasn't announced until that day, were snapped up within seven minutes. Adams donated the $20,000 raised to Vancouver Children's Hospital for treatment of young cancer patients.

Resplendent Randomness: I Can't Help Falling in Love With You

I know, I've not done one of these for a while.  A crime, really, because you all have sent me such lovely videos to feature.  My heartfelt apologies, my dear Devoted.

Here's on ee YooperGirl sent me earlier this morning, making this dreary, drizzly, depressing Boston Monday morning a little brighter.

A Farewell to PhilX?

Phil posted this on his Twitter just before the St. Louis show.

From this, it sounds like our Richie will be back for the European leg of this tour, for which I'm sure everyone is grateful.  BUT, let's not forget to give a HUGE Jovi thanks to Phil for not only stepping up to help our our guys, but doing a damned fine job of it.  It has been an absolute joy to watch HIS absolute joy at performing with this friendly monster of a touring machine, and his down-to-earthness and complete lack of ego has endeared him to at least this fangirl's heart.  Thanks Phil.  You are a class act and a hell of a musician.
