And just HOW would you know that, Bay?  (lol)

Happy Friday everyone!

Can-Do Awards Sound Byte

Thanks, Queenie, for this link.

You know, I think he didn't mind answering questions until she asked that last one.

At least it wasn't a question about the hair.

Live on Broadway

Thanks Catte and Lee-Ann for the heads up, 'cause it for SURE wasn't announced anywhere.

Note to Bon Jovi WebSite Gremlins -- this is the kind of stuff we'd like to see advertised on the website.  Just sayin'.

We had to find out about it from our Google Alerts, and on BroadwayWorld.com:
MEMPHIS collaborators Joe DiPietro and David Bryan shared the spotlight on Wednesday, April 6 at Sirius/XM's Live on Broadway radio show hosted by Seth Rudetsky. The Tony Award winning duo spoke with Rudetsky about their upcoming project now in the works; a musical about a group of songwriters during the early 1960's working in New York City's historic Brill Building.
They talked about the film version of Memphis, which should hit theaters soon (in the US). Hopefully Sirius/XM or SOMEONE has a recording of the whole interview to share.

The highlight of the radio show came with David Bryan's poignant rendition of "Memphis Lives in Me", the 11th hour number from MEMPHIS.

Can Do Awards

Thanks to Peg, Queenie, and Catte for sending along a BOATLOAD of photos from the NYC Food Bank's Can-Do Award Dinner.

The dinner is Food Bank For New York City's our largest fundraiser of the year, honoring their partners in the fight to end hunger throughout the five boroughs.

You can read more about the dinner at the organization's website:  Food Bank for NYC - Can-Do Awards Dinner.

I know, I know, Jon's cut and colored his hair again.  I think it looks good.  My favorite picture is the goofy one with his tongue sticking out.... wonder what/who he was laughing at?

DVD 5-Pack: Crazy Nights in the Brokenpromiseland

The same folks who put together the great 6-dvd set of the highlights from the O2 (from YouTube videos) have put together another set, this time highlights from the New Zealand/Austrailia shows, for your downloading pleasure.

I saw this pop up on my google alerts for one of my favorite forums, Guitars101, and thought you might like it.

Now, the links are all hosted on fileserve.  You can download for free, but you have to wait a bit in between downloads if you have a free account.  You'll also have to have software to burn these to DVDs -- they aren't just the YouTube videos on disc, they were put into a DVD format with menus, etc.

Happy [Belated] Birthday, Soul Shifter!

Tony K, over at The Screen Door posted this yesterday.  Yep, one year ago yesterday, Lorenza Ponce released Soul Shifter.

You can read Tony's review of the record here .

In Tony's words:

Lorenza Ponce, best known for playing violin with Sheryl Crow and Bon Jovi, released Soul Shifter, a wonderfully exotic and sultry collection of songs.

The album has gotten better with time and you can't go wrong in purchasing it.

Well said.

You can buy it here or here.

Resplendent Randomness: Shooting Star

This is by far one of my all-time favorite covers that the band has done.

Thanks to Blushnscarlett for sending me this bit of lovely in my inbox :)

As per some of the comments, this is not the "full" version of the song; it'd been cut for that video. Another poster has put up the full audio as the background music to a picture slide show.

Happy Thursday!

JBJ at the NAN Gala Tonight?

The National Action Network website is talking about the Keepers of the Dream Awards tonight. President Obama is a special guest, and Bill Cosby is the Key Speaker. The award is given to individuals who work to advance Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s legacy of social and economic justice.

Rumor has it, that JBJ is expected at the gala tonight. Where he knows at least one of the honorees -- Ms. Sylvia Rhone (president, Universal Motown Records) -- the rumor mills are cranking overtime.

Of course, I haven't seen anything official, but the thought of getting new JBJ tuxedo pics is getting some of the girls excited.

Stay tuned...

Wanted Wednesday: April 6, 1993, Milan

Please rise for the playing of our national anthem.

Another Kasey Casem moment.

On this date, back in 1993, the boys were in Milan.

From the first six notes -- notes that EVERY fan knows -- through to the end, it's just a great rendition. The quality of this boot is phenominal -- you can hear the crowd in the background but WAY in the background.

David's keys are mic'd great for the solo, and he and Richie sound great together.

Sorry, I don't have a lot to say about this verson of the song except to lament my personal lack of Jovi experience in the 90's. Again.

Let's Ride!

Or, you can download this track here.

Mid-Day Motivators: Follow?

Bay, this one made me laugh :)  I don't think Jon's paranoid.  I'm also thinking he's thinking that Twitter is evil, and a total time suck for his staff (lol).

Thanks, Kiwi, for this link. Yeah, Jon is totally trying to look up her skirt -- though it doesn't look like she'd object too much :)
