Richie & Nikki: 10 songs?

Thanks, T, for dropping this link in my inbox.  (No not Terri, another T).
To help close out Fashion Week, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora and designer/Secret Crush member Nikki Lund unveiled the Fall 2011 season of their fashion label, White Trash Beautiful, at New York's Metropolitan Pavilion last night (Feb. 17). The collection was a mix of gowns, cropped blazers, and sheer blouses in a palette of black, teal and gray.

In addition to the fashion collaboration, the pair created an original soundtrack for their runway show. "You will hear a song called 'This Could Be The Night Tonight,' where one of the main hooks is, 'Do you like my ass in these pants?'" Sambora tells Billboard.com. "So obviously, the fashion influenced the music."

Sambora will be on tour with Bon Jovi through the summer, but the guitarist says that he looks forward to continuing his musical relationship with Lund. The pair has finished a total of ten tracks are are planning on developing more.

"I think [the music] is completely different. There is no hint of Bon Jovi. It's like gorilla dance music," notes Sambora. "We just wrote a song that sort of sounds like country and the White Stripes put together. Making independent music is a great outlet for me."

Gorilla dance music? Holy crap, I'm literally weeping. If these tracks are anything like the one we heard last year, I don't wanna know; never want to hear them. Ever. Seriously. And the lyric? Do you like my ass in these pants? Really? Yeah Richie, weeping.

Fashion Week Video Interview

Richie Sambora and Nikki Lund's WTB Fall 2011 at NY Fashion Week

Musician Richie Sambora and musician/designer Nikki Lund debuted their White Trash Beautiful Fall 2011 Collection for the first time during NY Fashion Week.

WTB will soon launch its first mens' collection. "We are going to start with a smattering in the spring," says Sambora. "I wear WTB on stage. All my street clothes are WTB. So I am the only man who actually has WTB right now. So I am exclusive!"

Though Sambora may be the only one who owns pieces from WTB's yet-to-be released line for men, he is not the only male celebrity who can be seen wearing it. Indeed, according to Lund and Sambora, country music star, Brad Paisley is a fan of the line as well.

"Brad borrowed my clothes for the CMT Music Awards and also wore them on the CMA (Country Music Awards)," adds Sambora. "Brad called us four days before the CMTs. We were dressing Kellie Pickler and Carrie Underwood, but didn't have the time to fit him. So I talked to him and I said 'hey Brad, what size are you?' When he said he was a 43 I told him I would just send him some of my stuff! I was surprised that he said 'yeah, OK'. He ended up wearing my stuff on the show with Carrie Underwood and they did a duet."

Fashion Week Photos

NY Fashion Week ends on a rock note

New York Fashion Week came to a glamorous end on Thursday night, as some famous rockers showed off their collections.

Established and upcoming artists showed upcoming trends for fall during the past week.

Singer Gwen Stefani showed the latest from her Lamb Design label, while Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora flew in from Canada, where the band is touring, to show his collection.

He and fellow rocker Nikki Lund created the White Trash Beautiful label. If their clothing is anything to go by, Autumn 2011 is going to be filled with leather and lace.

Leather and Lace isn't such a bad thing...

Hmmm.... sounds like a good title for a story...

Toronto Night 1 Full Show Boot

From the source:

Lots of crowd interaction, everyone in my section was singing loudly & proudly - you will hear lots of background singing, sorry but the people sitting close to me were really into the concert.

The sound is great on this, I had a very good seat, I didn't even need to master this but I did anyways, very good sound, you will hear some crackle but only when Jon speaks between songs, other than that its all clear.

Superman Tonight (Acoustic) - II

A closer video.

I have to say, I pulled this to my iPod and am addicted to it. to @Anon who posted on my other ST post, yes, you're right; they had promised an acoustic version if we voted the video to #1 -- I had forgotten about that. If they had given us a taste, I'll bet we could have done it :)

The ending, with Jon's voice layered over Richie's... amazing.

Wanted Wednesday: Monterrey 1990

Please rise for the playing of our national anthem.

Today's one of those "This day in history" days. The show today is from this date back in 1990 -- the first of two shows that would wrap the Jersey Syndicate tour.

A nice long intro (~ 2 minutes, have I mentioned how I love that?), complete with wind sound effects (lol). A little different sound on the vocals (especially the second verse) which is nice -- variety IS the spice of life you know.

Absolutely screamin' solo and a damned good all-around sound.

Let's Ride!

You can download the track here.

Evening With Bon Jovi

An interesting article from RadioRockCafe:

BON JOVI In Montreal - "Fans Can Expect The Band To Play Three Hours Or More Each Night:

A reliable BW& BK source has confirmed that the two upcoming BON JOVI shows in Montreal, on February 18th and 19th, are 'Evening With' shows. There are NO opening acts and the band will hit the stage at 7:30pm sharp. Fans can expect the band to play three hours or more each night.
If this is true, I hope there continues to be no announced opening act for the Boston show!! What a great first concert experience for Hathlet!!

Guys? You listening? Please?

Sambora Shows the Love

A brief article on Gibson's website; a cute little read:

He’s seen a million faces and he’s rocked them all. And so have his bandmates, including a certain Jon Bon Jovi. The artist in question is Richie Sambora, the ridiculously talented Jersey-born guitarist who has slung a loaded six-string for Bon Jovi, the band, for nearly 30 years.

In preparation for two upcoming shows in the Steel City, Sambora talked to PittsburghLive.com about just what keeps the band charged up after all these years.

“Love of music,” said Sambora. “Love of each other, you know, the respect and the opportunity that we have, that we're one of the few bands in the world that have that opportunity... I really don’t like to brag, but we’re a bunch of good guys, you know, and we love each other.”

Sambora says the group’s stage show has evolved over time to be less and less about the effects and more about the band’s ability to play to the crowd.

“This band is about the people in the band and the songs, and less about the production. What we have learned to do – God, 28 years now of being together – is ‘give good stadium.’ I mean that's the best way I could put it... I don’t know how to say it any other way, and I’m trying to be humble about it, but this band – we know how to give good stadium.”

In particular, Sambora gives props to his well-maned frontman:

“The guy’s extraordinary. It’s like when I walk on stage with him I’m going, ‘What’s next?’ All of us do the same thing.”
