Larry King Rescheduled to Dec 9

As per the Larry King Live website, the postponed interview with Jon has been rescheduled to December 9th.  Barring another "wicked important international incident", we should be able to watch the segment in all its glory.

Remember, this is not a band performance segment, but a JonBon interview segment.

Thanks Tara, for the heads-up!  Someone be sure to let @MattBongiovi know :)

Mid-Day Motivator: Flashback

BlushnScarlett, this one makes me laugh -- Happy Friday!!

Resplendent Randomness ~ Lean on Me

Not resplendent in its video playback (the picture used for the background is a bit grainy, and I'm not sure it's era-correct lol).

But the song itself.

Pure heaven.

Thanks to BlushnScarlett for dropping this in my inbox.  I adore this cover as well, and almost wish the days of covering the "old standards" would come back just a little bit.

Here it is -- Lean on Me.

Resplendent Randomness ~ Bridge Over Troubled Water

The Harmony.

Sweet LORD the harmony.

I loved this comment on the video:

*sigh*

OK, I suppose I should really try to get some work done today.

But I'm stuck in YouTube land.

Resplendent Randomness ~ Any Other Day

This is one of my  most favorite Jovi moments ever.  Remember the first time I heard the boot from this show, and tearing with happiness.

"Look who just got back", indeed.  I love the way Jon just stops to stare at Richie while he's ripping the solo, and is [probably] thinking, "thank God you're back, my brother; and don't pull that shit again".

Resplendent Randomness ~ City Blues

This was on my iPod this morning, and I had to find the video to share with you all.

Talk about a perfect combination of rock and blues...

IMO the solo riffs are just amazing, and when Richie's got his front-man hat on, it's ALMOST as good as when he's wearing the Stetson.

TGIF!

JBJ and Friends, January 27

From BSWJBJ:
On January 27th, 2011, The Parker Family Health Center invites you to rock out with Jon Bon Jovi & Friends at the Starland Ballroom! The mission of the Parker Family Health Center is to operate a free health care facility where Monmouth County residents who do not have medical insurance or the ability to pay for medical care can be treated.

On Friday, December 3rd at 10AM EST, there will be an exclusive pre-sale for this amazing event for Backstage JBJ members. VIP tickets will be available for $1,000.00, which includes a ticket to the event and access to the VIP Meet and Greet Cocktail Party. General Admission tickets will be available for $250.00. Net proceeds from this event will benefit The Parker Family Health Center.
Great cause, lousy timing.  I don't know about you, but I just about finished my holiday shopping, and though I pat my pockets furiously, I can't seem to find $1000 for a seat or $250 to pay for SRO.  Just don't got it, guys.

And just who is the Meet and Greet with?  It doesn't say (so the assumption is, it's with JBJ and Friends) but I'm feeling a wee bit cynical on this cold December day. Just sayin'.

Wanted Wednesday: Giants Stadium, June 11, 1989

Please rise, for the singing of our national anthem...

This one was prompted by the video. I saw it pop in my email alerts. I have the audio boot from this show, but had JUST downloaded it, so hadn't had a chance to listen. After this Wanted? You'd better believe I had to hear the whole show.

But this cut of Wanted?

The nearly 6-minute intro? GAH!

The triple-neck guitar? Double-GAH!

The rest of the song is good -- nothing spectactular, but a solid, wonderful performance. It's the intro that hooked me.

Let's ride!

You can download the song here.

Thanks to MySovereign for this video post! The start is a bit dark, but the sound is perfection. Absolute perfection.

And if you just want the intro, RebelliousHutterite2 has you hooked up.

You can download the intro here.

Two Nights in Tokyo

American rock band Bon Jovi arrived in Tokyo on Monday to play two concerts at Tokyo Dome on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The band, making its 15th tour of Japan, was last here three years ago. About 100 fans were on hand at Narita airport to greet the band members.

Lead vocalist Jon Bon Jovi, 48, thanked Japanese fans for supporting the band for the past 27 years since the group was formed, and promised a great live event. Promoters said there are still plenty of tickets available for both concerts, which start at 7 p.m. (which was about 20 minutes ago)

source

I thought for sure Japan would be sell-out capacity crowds. Seems like the decision to be done for a while is a good one.  They can regroup, we can replenish funds and start to miss them, and everyone can have a big happy reunion when next we meet.

Until then, we're tracking the Circle/GH tour on the BJCT, and will do so through Lisbon in 2011.  Then, when the guys go on their break, we can see them an ol' time we want to :)

Resplendent Randomness

In These Arms From The Tonight Show.

Tara, it's YOUR fault I still haven't even opened my email yet.  Holy crap.

A few extremely shallow comments.

Uh, holy CRAP the high-waisted pants with the cowboy shirt, Jon!  Definitely one of those "what was I thinking" moments now, right?  Don't worry, as a survivor of multiple 80's and 90's fashion faux pas (leg warmers and spandex OUTSIDE the dance studio, mall hair, cuffed jeans), I can promise you anyone who was older than 12 during that time has at least ONE of those moments captured on film.  I have to say, though -- you do make them look good...

Richie, please PLEASE bring back the open-to-the-waist button-down shirts.  And the rosary.  Dear GOD bring back the rosary.

David, the vest?  Not so much, but showing off the guns?  Yes please!

Happy Monday!
