Solo Project?

Some interesting news from Billboard.com:
Jon Bon Jovi is already hatching plans for August, after he and his band wrap up touring in support of their 2009 album, "The Circle," and a "Greatest Hits" set that comes out Nov. 9.

"I'm going to sit on a beach for August, which is usually what I do, and come September figure out what's next," Bon Jovi tells Billboard.com. Some possibilities? "A smaller-sounding solo record and/or focus more on the philanthropy and sports ownerships," he says. "I don't see any acting in the immediate future. It'll be out of the political cycles, and there's nothing else I wish I could do. I'm not a coulda, shoulda, woulda kind of guy. If I wanted to do it, I tried it, so it's not like I have any hidden desire to become a chef or anything."
YES, JON! Do a solo project. Then Richie can get his done, too. Dave'll be busy with the new Broadway show -- c'mon, do it!

Mid-Day Motivator: Pleasure

I thought this one would be a good note to end the week on (on which to end the week? Glad to see the grammar lessons stuck.  Mrs. Rounde is spinning in her grave, I'm sure of it!)

Catte, this one is mesmerizing.

Extra! Segment

FINALLY!

Nikki posted on her blog last night just when the segment was airing.

Of course, my computer is still being re-built -- and successfully, I may add! Last night was iTunes. I extracted the drive from the old computer, inserted it in the new, renamed the drive to match what it was on the old, brought across my iTunes library, and BOOM! It all worked the first time!

Anyway, I digress.

So I wasn't around the 'net when the posting from Nikki came through.

BUT, never fear; there is a video up on Extra's site for it. Richie was in a GREAT mood, playful, funny, smiling -- it's a great segment...

Sorry to Becky, who didn't get her question answered on air, but as she said, she's got the memory (and her own video) to keep forever :)

ITV London Studios Event ~ November 1

From bonjovi.com

October 27, 2010
Dear Bon Jovi Fan,

International rock legends Bon Jovi are coming to ITV for a one-off Greatest Hits show. Get ready to rock; as a special thank you for coming to see Bon Jovi live previously, we are extending a very special invitation for you to apply to join us for this very special night.

The show will be recorded at The ITV London Studios near Waterloo on London's South Bank on Monday 1st November.

The company issuing the tickets, SRO Audiences, have put aside some tickets for the band's loyal fans who have previously attended a Bon Jovi concert and will allocate these in the order that they receive applications on which the codeword 'prayer' is stated in the 'Comments and other information' box on the application form.

If you have already applied, this will not affect your previous application but a limited number of tickets have been reserved for Bon Jovi fans who have bought tour tickets and only applications which state the codeword in the 'Comments and other information' box will be eligible for these tickets. You may apply again using the codeword if you wish to do so. Once these tickets have been allocated, any further applications will be treated as regular applications and not given any special treatment, so do jump on the SRO Audiences site quickly!

Please note: to be as fair to everyone as possible nobody will be allocated more than one set of fan tickets and a maximum of two fan tickets will be issued to each applicant. You may therefore apply for one or two tickets using the codeword, but any applications for 3 or more tickets using the codeword will be issued a maximum of 2 fan tickets.

If you would like to apply for a group of 3, 4, 5 or 6 tickets, then do not use the codeword, and your application will be processed along with all of the other applications in the order in which it arrives.

To apply for one or two fan tickets, visit the SRO Audiences site now and apply. The website address is http://www.sroaudiences.com

Good luck!

Do ya love Glee?

Thanks LT, for the heads up!

I don't watch the show, but some of you do, and I KNOW you love Bon Jovi...

The two shall meet (again) in two weeks.

As you’re most likely aware, Glee won’t be back for two weeks, but when the show returns on November 9th, it’s with the episode Never Been Kissed, and we have a sneak peek of the show for you.

In Never Been Kissed, the Glee girls will be singing Bon Jovi’s hit Livin’ On A Prayer, complete with leathers and everything.

The press release of the show’s synopsis won’t be forthcoming for a week or so yet, but we can tell you that Puck’s going to be back, and so is his Mohawk! Yay!

And we’ll see that Kurt’s considering a transfer to another school, which apparently has something to do with his new love interest!

Also, Clarice will be reprising her role as Sunshine Corazon after being absent from the last four episodes…

Rumour has it that she could be the newest member of rival Glee club, Vocal Adrenaline. If true, we’ll most likely also see Cheyenne Jackson returning as Dustin Goolsby, the new Vocal Adrenaline coach.

Also showing up again in Never Been Kissed is Dot Jones who plays the role of Coach Beiste. Sue’s gonna love that eh?!

But without further ado, here’s the clip. Enjoy!

Wanted Wednesday ~ Bremen, Germany 1995

Please rise, for the singing of our national anthem...

Oh my GOD. The long intro.... The double-neck and that STETSON! Deadly combination. A teaser of Stick to your Guns in there amidst all that awesome fretwork. Damn.

Just when you're all worked up into a guitargasm, the notes. Da-da-da-da-da-daaaaaa....

Then the band comes in.

A few minutes later, Jon strolls out onto the stage and ambles up to the mic to start the song.  The intro does it for me, though -- that's what puts this on the must-listen list.

You can download this track here.

Thanks to "bjcrush" on YouTube, you can watch the video of this track.

The More Things Change - Lyrics

Again, as per my ears. Edits welcome.

The More Things Change

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Ah, is it just me, or does anybody see
The new improved tomorrow isn't what it used to be
Yesterday keeps coming 'round it's just reality
It's the same damned song with a different melody

The market keeps on crashin' tattered jeans are back in fashion
'Stead of records, now it's MP3's
I'll tell you one more time with feeling
Even though this world is reeling
You're still you, and I'm still me

I didn't mean to cause a scene
But I guess it's time to roll up our sleeves

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
The same sun rises, it's just another day
If you're hangin' long enough, they say you're coming back
Just take a look, we're living proof, and baby that's a fact

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

You're either runnin' 'round in circles, or you're runnin' out of time
Everybody's somewhere either twelve, three, six or nine
the times' they are changing we're here to turn the page
it's the same old story, but it's told a different way

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
The same sun rises, it's just another day
If you're hangin' long enough, they say you're coming back
Just take a look, we're living proof, and baby that's a fact

You know
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
'Never' and 'Forever' just keep comin' back again
Don't hold out for tomorrow, or hold onto yesterday
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Solo

Here comes the na-na-na-na-na-na-na
These days it's raise the roof, instead of sha-la-la
Here come the rappers, the dancers and the remix drum machine
This one is for the CEOs and record companies.

And if you're waiting on a happy ending
We're gonna hit the hook one more time

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Ah, you know
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Catchy tune, and I love the dig about the CEOs and record companies. BUT. Totally HATE the first 9 seconds; may be cutting that out of my MP3 (lol).

This is Love, This is Life - Lyrics

As per my ears -- if you find something amiss, please let me know!!
This is Love, This is Life

These days what's left of me, ain't no Prince Charmin'
And my Cinderella feels like she stayed at the dance too long.
We ain't got much but what we got is all that matters
We're picking up the pieces, trying to put 'em back where they belong

Oh, it's gotta be alright
This is love, this is life
When times get tough we're still worth the fight
This is love, this is life

The road here's paved with the broken hearted
We gotta finish what we started
Oh, better hold on tight
This is love, this is life

These days it seems there's three sides to every story
There's yours, mine, and lately there's the cold hard truth
Who cares who's wrong or right when we turn out the lights
We'll find forgiveness when we're in each other's arms tonight
It ain't pretty but somehow we always make it through

Oh, it's gotta be alright
This is love, this is life
When times get tough we're still worth the fight
this is love, this is life

The road here's paved w/the broken hearted
We gotta finish what we started
Oh, better hold on tight
This is love, this is life

Solo

Oh, it's gotta be alright
This is love, this is life
When times get tough we're still worth the fight
this is love, this is life

The road here's paved w/the broken hearted
We gotta finish what we started
Oh, better hold on tight
This is love, this is life

This is love, this is life

This is love, this is life

I like this WAY more than 'No Apologies'. I mean, it has a talkbox intro -- kidding. It is a much more Jovi-esque song. Nice.

You can also listen to it here.

US Tour Dates Almost Announced

Yeah, that got your attention, didn't it?

Apparently, Matt was in chat over the weekend, and let it "spill" that tour dates will be announced next week for the next US leg (February and March dates) with tickets on sale the week of November first. That's next week folks.

Europe will be in June/July (as we already know) and there will be Fan Club trips planned for NYC, Vegas, Orlando, London and possibly Dublin.

Again, take it all with a grain of salt -- until and unless it's published on bonjovi.com, even if it does come from Matt (lol) it's all just hearsay and rumor.

A Sad Day...

So, my trusty hard-drive at home is trusty no longer.  It has notified me that it has had a "SMART" event, and failure is IMMINENT.

Imminent.  One scary-ass word when you're talking about computer hard drive crashes.

Wicked scary.

So yesterday, Mr. Hath and I powered down the PC, and hit our local Best Buy to procure a new one.  We priced just replacing the disk, but it's the "main disk" so we'd have to buy the operating system and all that junk again, or fight with Microsoft over re-licensing what we had -- totally not work the hassle.

We'll pick up the new machine today, and will spend the next two weeks getting it set up the way we like.

Fortunately, most of my music / videos / photos / stories / life is on the non-failing disk, so it should be a simple matter of pulling the drive and inserting it into the new box (which is a big massive relief because I didn't relish the idea of moving 750GB across our piddly home-network).

AND my iTunes now has its own external hard drive, so that's safe.

AND we use Carbonite, which I am totally in LOVE with, because it's saved our collective ass more than once when Windows decided to pull a nutty, so most of our software is easily re-installed.  Seriously, if you love your PC, and are HORRIBLE about backing up your system, this is the tool for you.  It is relatively inexpensive, and backs up EVERYTHING to online storage, that is accessible at the click of a mouse.  Carbonite has saved our bacon when we deleted files accidentally, and when iTunes decided it hated me, I was able to restore my library without re-uploading all my music.  Seriously, it'll be the best $55 (per year) you'll ever spend.  And no, they didn't pay me to say that.

The new machine just a nuisance, really.  But, it will force us to sort through things, which is good for me -- I have dozens of boots I haven't unzipped / listened to / uploaded to iTunes yet.

So, this was a long-winded intro to say, I'll be a busy bunny the next couple of weeks, so please bear with me if you're waiting on bootleg requests, emails, DMs, and other manners of communication.

Thanks in advance.

X-Factor Appearance

The X Factor will showcase three massive musical acts on it’s results show next week. Well two massive acts and a band that we haven’t heard of since the 90s.

Rihanna, Bon Jovi and Jamiroquai have been lined up for Sunday night’s extravaganza, when yet another finalist will be voted off the show.

Rock legends Bon Jovi will most likely sing their newest single What Do You Got? The track is the lead track from the band’s Greatest Hits album, set to be released in November, 2010. The American band last appeared on the ITV show in 2009, when they showcased their song ‘We Weren’t Born To Follow.’

You can read the whole article here.

So when does each episode of X-Factor air? It depends on where in the world you are. The live broadcast hits the airwaves on ITV1 at 7:30PM BST (England time), and on ITV2 at 9:00PM BST, but since it isn’t carried on American television, you can watch the X-Factor live-feed online.

Saturdays are typically performance days, and Sundays are elimination days.

JBJ Soul Foundation Message

Mimi Box, Executive Director of the JBJ Soul Foundation, posted this on the JBJSF site:

Our work is very important to us and here at the JBJSF we recognize the great challenges in taking on such a global issue as homelessness and more specifically, the right to safe and affordable housing for all. With guidance from our mentors and with the resources of our community partners we have made great strides and housed hundreds of individuals and families that have either experienced or been on the threshold of homelessness.

In just the four years since our Foundation began its work, we saw the faces of those experiencing homelessness change, thus our recent investment in projects that benefit veterans, youth and families.

When Jon began his Circle Tour, he saw it as an opportunity to explore the causes and issues, as well as resources and strategies at work around the country. Here, in his own words, he shares what he learned, how the people he met validated the work we do, and most of all how they touched his heart and SOUL.

Just like the Tour site visits were stops along the way; our Foundation’s journey to combat homelessness has just begun. We thank you for your ongoing support of our Mission.

Sincerely,

Mimi Box, Executive Director Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation
