The Bozzett Book
There are a couple of interesting reads on the book; one who's all gung-ho about it and one that's ho-hum. Both are worth a look.
The first, (gung-ho) is from the Lefsetz Letter. Here is an excerpt:
The second, is from the Summit Daily News:
What did you all think of the book? A friend scanned the book and sent it along, and I read some of it; I found the writing very juvenile and hard to get through. After about 5 pages, I filed it away on my hard drive.

The first, (gung-ho) is from the Lefsetz Letter. Here is an excerpt:
Desmond is the unsung hero of the Bon Jovi story. Reading this book, you realize that without him, Bon Jovi is just a band of big-haired wannabes with a minor radio hit featuring the piano playing of a member of the E Street Band.I know, it gets your back up, doesn't it?
...Do I believe every word of this book? Hell, his description of record royalties is so off it throws into question the veracity of so much more. And obviously he wrote the book because he’s pissed, he never got his promised 5% of Bon Jovi.
...the real story is Bon Jovi just didn’t have enough talent.
Jon highlighted his hair upon the advice of stylists. Research was done amongst the target demo in order to plot direction. But after the second album stiffed, there was no road to success, because Bon Jovi, the band, just couldn’t write hit material.
The second, is from the Summit Daily News:
“Sex, Drugs & Bon Jovi” is an interesting look into the rock lifestyle, but it's a bit of a misnomer. With a name like that, you'd expect the book to delve into all kinds of juicy secrets about Bon Jovi.Aside from calling Jon "Jovi" throughout, like it's his last name (which was a tad annoying) I liked the review.
The book actually has more information on Mötley Crüe's drug use than Jovi or his band's.
Bozzett also takes care to protect Jovi's reputation in such things as sex, particularly during Jovi's days with Dorothea...about the biggest display of sex in this book comes in the form of press shots with several naked women posing with Jovi and the band. Bozzett lets readers know Jovi just posed, so I'm not sure where the sex in the title came from.
What did you all think of the book? A friend scanned the book and sent it along, and I read some of it; I found the writing very juvenile and hard to get through. After about 5 pages, I filed it away on my hard drive.

Gulf Shores Tickets
Tickets for the upcoming Concerts for the Coast productions will be given out in less than 48 hours. Both Bon Jovi and Brad Paisley tickets will be available.
The Orange Beach Sportsplex, the Erie Meyer Civic Center in Gulf Shores, and the Foley City Hall are all ticket locations for the Concerts for the Coast event. The three locations will split an allotment of 4,500 tickets per concert. The two concerts that weekend are Bon Jovi on Friday night and Brad Paisley on Sunday. Each person is only allowed two tickets for one of the concerts, not both. However, there is a way around that.
If you take your husband or wife, or best friend, and you stand next to each other one of you could get two for Bon Jovi and one of you could get two for Brad Paisley. It's possible to do that, just find a friend.
Tickets for the Bon Jovi and Brad Paisley concerts will be available in all three locations starting at 8:00 a.m Saturday. All you need is a photo ID and maybe a little patience as you wait in line.

Greatest Hits Cover
From BonJovi.com:
Jon Bon Jovi “reveals” the cover of Bon Jovi’s upcoming Greatest Hits collection (due Nov. 9) with a little help from supermodel Michelle Alves at the Soho Grand Hotel.

I personally hope that there are more options than just black for the t-shirt.
Some mock-ups, if you will...
NOTE TO MERCH: If I can do this with GimpShop in like 5 minutes, you can come up with better colors in these families for t-shirts.
ALSO, please, don't make the ladies' shirts only available in Super-Model size.
AND please note: "2x" is not size 12. The fandom is made up of all shapes and sizes. Just sayin'.

I Love A Good Storm
Good LORD what a storm we're having in Boston this morning. The skies are black -- like 3am black -- the lightning is coming fast and furious, and the sound of the rain pelting the windows is drowned out by the booming thunder.
It's days like this that I want to be at home, curled up on the sofa under the skylights, watching the weather. The power and fury of Mother Nature is quite a sight to behold.
Looking out the window at the train station next door, people are huddled under the platform awnings, waiting for a break in the weather before making a dash to wherever it is they need to be.
I say, Let it Rain...

Wanted Wednesday ~ Young Cowboy
Please rise, for the singing of our national anthem...
Up for your enjoyment today, a track from a boot called "Young Cowboy". This was recorded on October 25th, 1992 in NYC at the Kaufman Astoria; it was the filming for "An Evening With Bon Jovi". If you have that DVD, you've heard this before.
I love a good story. You can't love the songwriting duo of Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora without loving a good story.
In this cut, before the song starts, Jon is telling the story about when this song was written in the basement of Richie's mom's house. It goes on for several minutes, but this part always makes me laugh:
Another acoustic cut (I promise, there will be full-band cuts as well, once I get going) this ranks up there high on the rotation.
You can download this track here.

Jon: I always knew that anytime before 1 in the afternoon, chances are Richie's still in bed. Like aluminum foil over the windows air conditioning up to ten even in February, stereo on all night like on a constant repeat, and you never knew who or what was gonna be in the room with him when I'd opened that door.I'm chuckling even now.
Richie: "You nasty thing you. Sorry mom!"

Greatest Hits Track Listing
No, no, no, it's not here.
OK. So. The UK/Aussie news outlets are saying there will be between 28 and 30 tracks. We already know at least a dozen or so from different other articles and our common sense. So, call it 20 tracks "yet to be unveiled" -- but knowing the Jovi Machine, my suspicion is that they'll "release" all ~30.
How many FB Fans are there already? Can't we bank on who's already there?
30 tracks by 10,000 fans -- that's 300,000 new fans on Facebook. Can they do that by November? I hate to say it, but if they haven't by NOW, with all the Circle Tour dates that have happened, I don't see it happening.
The GH chatter is all bust, especially in light of what Bruce is doing. Not only that, we were ASKED by AEG earlier in the year what we wanted in a GH release.
Either nobody answered, in which case there's no real interest in the GH release at all...
... or we did in fact answer, so we care about the GH release, but seeing what the offering is, have now determined we were effectively told "Piss off" by the band who ignored our pleas for something "great".
Either way, to my eyes, the getting 300k "new" fans starting today seems a bit of a stretch.
Let's hope I'm wrong.

Starting TODAY, September 7th, BonJovi will be revealing the track list of Bon Jovi's Greatest Hits album in an exciting and interactive way on Bon Jovi's Facebook page!
For every 10,000 fans that "like" Bon Jovi's Facebook page, a new song on the track list will be revealed! Previously released tracks will have a link to listen to the whole song, and brand new songs will have a link for a 30 second sneak peak clip! You can find this on Bon Jovi's Facebook page under the tab titled "Band Page".
After you like Bon Jovi's page, you can help unlock the tracks faster by using the "Suggest to Friends" option located just below the profile picture on Bon Jovi's Facebook page.
