The Grammy's: Bon Jovi Vote

Time's running out to get your votes in!

This article offered this little tidbit of information:

Some more info on the Grammy performance......

The fans are voting for one of three songs on CBS.com (that Bon Jovi will perform; they are “Livin on a Prayer,” “It’s My Life,” and “Always”). He won’t know which song that won until 30 seconds before he finishes the second song and then boom, he’s on it. He’ll do “We Weren’t Born to Follow,” and then Jennifer Nettles will come on and join him, and then he’ll go into one of three songs.
OK, so why Jennifer Nettles? Are they in the running for anything this year? Or in true Jon style, is he going to say "f*ck what the fans want" and do Who Says?

I can NOT wait for the technical glitch that is going to mess this up on Sunday. C'mon you KNOW that if he's supposed to hear the song they're supposed to do in his monitors 30 seconds before he's supposed to lead the band into it, the person doing the informing is going to choose that moment to need to hit the head :)

I for one will be watching....

Superman Tonight ~ Official Video

I kinda like it. I miss Huey, but I like it better than the guys-standing-around-obviously-lip-synching videos. This one appears to have a little story to it.

And of course, I love the song :)

I'll have the MP4 video rip for you later this weekend... along with everything else I owe you (yes, there's a list!!)

Breakfast TV Appearance (III)

Thanks again, R, for posting, and for the brief translation so we can follow along!

Jon and Rich talked about the meaning of the Circle and about Superman tonight.

The Moderator asked if Mrs. Clinton is a good friend and Jon told him even Mr. Obama has a copy of the record and he has the lyrics from Working man on his wall.

Also they talked about the brotherhood in the band and than what Jon was feeling when he was in Germany on Nov 9th and 20 years ago.

I know, I know, I owe you all sorts of updates on the SkyDrive/Mediafire locations. I swear, I'm getting to it. Real life has been intruding this week, but I have a list. And maybe just a little extra treat to warm your cold January day. This weekend for sure, my pretties.

Breakfast TV Appearance ~ Germany

Thanks to R for the drop into my inbox this morning!!

The boys were on German TV this morning; on Sat-1 Breakfast TV. Here is a youtube of the performance. I'll have the video up on the skydrive later tonight for your downloading pleasure.

There was a man-on-the-street segment, where Jon and Rich had to try to figure out what random passers-by were singing (too funny), and in the second part, the moderator was getting a guitar lesson from Richie (dream come true, there!!)

They will air another segment tomorrow, where the guys will reportedly be performing an acoustic version of When We Were Beautiful.

Grammy Voting ~ Round II

OK, so my voted-song (HAND, so Richie would flip off the Grammy's) has dropped out of contention. The field has been narrowed to three:

Always
Prayer
It's My Life

So I'm going to have to go with a Talkbox song. (Sorry, Always).... Hmmmm, which to choose.....

Prayer would be fun, just to see if Jon could get the audience to do the heavy lifting on the chorus, or maybe they'd go acoustic... wouldn't THAT be great...

Vote here.

Celebs Cover "Everybody Hurts" for Haiti Relief

From my Google Alerts...

Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Jon Bon Jovi Join Simon Cowell's Haiti Single
Singers reportedly participating in cover of R.E.M.'s 'Everybody Hurts' for earthquake relief.

By Gil Kaufman

Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey and Jon Bon Jovi have joined the list of stars pitching in on "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell's charity single for Haiti relief. According to England's The Sun, the singers will appear on the cover of R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts," which will also feature famous Brits Susan Boyle, Leona Lewis and Rod Stewart.

"It's amazing these great singers are clearing their schedules to make this happen," Cowell told the paper, which is helping to organize the single. "I just found out Mariah has changed her schedule to be able to do this too."

Carey's and Cyrus' participation in the single could not be confirmed at press time, but an Island Def Jam rep did verify the news of Bon Jovi's appearance.

"It says such a lot that everyone is working so hard to help Haiti," Cowell told the Sun. "This is something that really matters to us all, and I'm so grateful for the support we are getting."

An unidentified source close to Cowell told the paper that Carey was very eager to pitch in on the all-star project. "Mariah was brilliant, she wanted to help in any way she could," the source said. "Her name gives the single another great boost."

The recording of the song kicked off in London over the weekend with "X Factor" judge Cheryl Cole and British act JLS, whose Oritse Williams lost relatives in the 7.0 earthquake that has so far claimed the lives of at least 150,000. Also expected to record their bits soon are Take That, Michael Bublé, Westlife, Alexandra Burke, James Morrison, Mika and James Blunt. All proceeds will be split between the Sun's Helping Haiti fund and the official Disasters Emergency Committee appeal. It has not yet been announced when the single will be released.

Friday night's all-star "Hope for Haiti Now" event has set a record for funds raised by public giving by a telethon with $58 million and counting. The iTunes album of the music from the show has already hit #1, notching the biggest one-day album pre-order in iTunes history.

Learn more about what you can do to help with earthquake-relief efforts in Haiti, and for more information, see Think MTV. Visit HopeForHaitiNow.org or call (877) 99-HAITI to make a donation now.

New Acquisition

Reports are all over the place (though they are all just copes of the NY Post article) about JB dropping some cash on an 1870 Martin guitar with an extraordinary, hand-painted folk-art guitar case at the American Antiques Show, which ends this weekend at Metropolitan Pavilion on West 18th Street. Bon Jovi, who also bought three World War II photos, paid five figures for the guitar, which was sold by a Chicago dealer.

Now, this guitar isn't [necessarily] what JonBon purchased, but it would be something similar. My brother would give his eyeteeth to play an 1800's Martin. He's not a guitar snob; he'd play anything, including his daughter's screaming purple Hannah Montana guitar lol, but he has soft spots for vintage acoustics. I think Martins are among Eric Clapton's favorite instruments (I don't think you can call them axes if they aren't plugged in) and my brother has coveted one since he was a kid.

Jon, when you get tired of the Martin, I know someone who will take REAL good care of her...
