Help for Haiti
Source: WPTV.COM
JUPITER, FL -- Jupiter resident and Bon Jovi band member, Tico Torres, is drumming up support for the youngest of earthquake victims.
The Tico Torres Children Foundation has teamed up with Advant Salud, a health care facility in both the Dominican Republic and Haiti, and Global Care Delivery, Inc., to help children in Haiti in need of health care services.
This will be an ongoing effort to mobilize doctors, nurses, and supplies both in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
The fundraising effort was announced Friday morning at the Jupiter Beach Resort in Jupiter.
Jupiter Beach Resort General Manager Jeff Castner says about 50 resort staff members have loved ones in Haiti.
Castner says many of them are still waiting to hear whether their family members are safe.
Advant Salud's Vice President, Michael Torbio, says their clinic in Haiti is still open and received little damage in the earthquake.
Torres is about to begin his year-long world tour with Bon Jovi.
For now, this effort is his priority and he says 100% of all donations will go directly to Haiti.
"I think what's important is now we see it. How do we help fix it and make it better and my mind's always been for kids. I think they'll change the world so if I can reach out and help children at this point, I think it's important for all of us to pull together," says Torres.
The Tico Torres Children Foundation is a not-for-profit (c) 3 charity developed to assist children in need to fight hunger, disease, homelessness, neglect, abuse, and illness.

You Be The Judge
This popped on my Google Alerts. Some people have too much time on their hands.
All rise.
The terms of this courtroom are simple. You will be presented with two songs, one by the plaintiff and one by the defendant. It is your task to decide if the defendant’s track is only coincidentally similar to the plaintiffs or, as members of the Bar Association put it, shenanigans have been pulled. You have been duly instructed.
Today’s docket: Tom Petty, plaintiff vs. Bon Jovi, defendant
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers – A One Story Town from Long After Dark (1982)
The chorus:
Oh, I’m lost in a one story town
Where everything’s close to the ground
Yeah the same shit goes down
Nothing turns around
It’s a one story town
Bon Jovi – Two Story Town from Crush (2000)
The chorus:
It’s just the same old sights
And the same old sounds
I want to take my car and drive out of this two story town
The same old shit that’s going round
I’m going down, down ,down, down, down
In a two story town
But, I know people like to vote for stuff. If this meets your 'stuff' criteria, and you want to cast yours, click here.

Need a Giggle?
Thanks to devotee JS for dropping a link in my inbox that has made it to my favorites list. Just a couple of gems from that site:
I don't care who you are, those are frickin' hysterical.
The site is called roflrazzi, and is a hoot and a half. ALMOST as funny as The People of Walmart

Want A Chance To Meet David?
Memphis is celebrating its 100th show, and boy do they have a contest for you.
The first 100 people who buy tickets at the Shubert Box Office (225 West 44th Street) on Thursday, January 14 will get the newly released "Memphis" Cast Album (which is great, by the way).
In addition "Memphis" will hold a lottery during the curtain call on Thursday, to invite a special member of the audience and their party to join the cast at Justin Timberlake's Manhattan hotspot Southern Hospitality.
A winner will be chosen by a random seat location drawing. The lucky winner will then join David Bryan, cast and crew at the celebrity hangout. All ticket holders for the Thursday, January 14 performance are eligible.
How 'bout that?!?
I think the guys should do this at their shows, too. Random drawing of all those who are NOT in "The Circle" seats for a chance to do a meet and greet and hang out backstage for a little while. How cool would that be?
And yes, I purposely excluded those in the amazing seats. Leave something for the rest of us :)

Cowell Leaves Idol
I have to put this out there, because it popped on my Google Alerts and made me laugh out loud.
I laughed because this just shows how many fans there are out there -- and that they will in JBJ for anything.
I can just see him visibly cringing during auditions, especially when someone who sings worse than I do tries to "impress him" with a horrid version of Prayer. More likely, he'd be sitting there on his blackberry, texting to Richie: What the hell am I doing here, bro? :)
Seriously though, is there anything the Jovi fandom wouldn't vote Jon in for? Aside for Mom of The Year, of course.

Well, it's finally official: Simon Cowell will be leaving "American Idol" at the end of this season.
He'll instead be judging "The X Factor", a show he created in the UK that will air in the US in 2011.
Back in December, MediaCurves.com surveyed Idol viewers, who rated Cowell their favorite judge (48%), with Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson a second (28%) and third (19%) respectively. New judge Kara DioGuardi was far behind, with only 5% of the votes.
When asked if they would watch "American Idol" more or less if Cowell left, 47% said they would watch less, 46% said they'd watch the same amount, and 7% said they'd watch more.
In a related survey the next week, MediaCurves.com reported that Idol viewers' first choice to replace Cowell would be "America's Got Talent" judge Piers Morgan. The runner up celebrities ranked as the second and third best replacement for Simon were Sean "Diddy" Combs and Quincy Jones, respectively. Other high ranking celebrities nominated to replace Cowell were David Foster, Donny Osmond, Jay Leno, and Jon Bon Jovi.
In the same story, CNN reports that Cowell said he missed Paula Abdul, who left the show in August "but wouldn't confirm or deny whether she would appear on 'X Factor' in the U.S."
CNN also says that Fox isn't rushing to find a replacement for Cowell.

The Grammys: Bon Jovi Vote
Here’s your chance to pick what song Bon Jovi will perform live at the GRAMMYS®. Whether it’s the classic song ‘Livin on a Prayer’ or one of their newer hits, ‘Have a Nice Day’ the decision is up to you!
Here’s how it works: right now vote from the top six songs listed on the website. Remember you can vote every day. Then on January 25th the list will be narrowed down to the top three songs with the voting continuing everyday. Then tune in during the GRAMMYS live on Sunday January 31st to see which song Bon Jovi will perform!
The songs listed are:
Livin' on a Prayer
It's My Life
Wanted Dead or Alive
Bed of Roses
Always
Have a Nice Day
So, I'm confused.
Isn't the band up for a Grammy for a song off of the new record?
And yet there are no songs from the new record on the voting list?
Now, I will admit, I tried to vote for HAND today, just because I want to see Richie flip off the audience during the chorus, but the text you have to enter (you know, to make sure spambots aren't voting) keeps giving me an error. Says the text doesn't match the image. I even tried to leave feedback to that effect, but the only thing you can leave feedback on is something you saw on CBS TV. Not very helpful, I'm afraid.
So, since I can't vote, let's chat.
What song do YOU should they play and why?
Should there have been songs from the new record on the list?
~ Hath
Update Jan 12, 10:15 AM EST : The voting appears to be working now. Got my vote in for HAND. Richie, darlin' get your flipping finger ready :) :) :)

My *sniff* Beloved Patriots
Sucked major football ass today.
Even JonBon was there to watch the terrible showing.
Hey, speaking of JB and my Pats -- anyone have any luck finding a friend of a friend who would share a full copy of "This Is Our House"? I wrote to Jonathan Kraft (twice) with nuthin'. Maybe I'll try again now that they don't need to play it anymore...
