Rings has been updated...

... I know, I know, FINALLY, right?

T and I had a marathon, 3-hour convo last night -- my phone battery died, that's how long we talked. We mapped out the rest of the story, now we just have to write it :)

Anyway, here is the next chapter.

David in NYC Today

Always a day late and a dollar short. Last week, David... You shoulda been there LAST week!

Anyway, David Bryan attended a BBQ to celebrate the opening of 'Memphis' on Broadway at Shubert Alley on August 26, 2009 in New York, New York.

He was in the same shirt he wore in July when he did the Broadway in the Park.

Do we need to take you shopping, sweetheart?

All this David inspiration.....

Maybe he's telling me that he's upset that Joker ended? Maybe it's time to start a new David story? OW! I think Richie just Gibbs'd me! OK, maybe after I finish some of my other projects....

Hugh McDonald Joins Poison

Got your attention, didn't it?

We don't say nearly enough about our bespectacled bassman, and that's just wrong. Sorry, Huey.

Hugh has worked with lots of other big names besides Bon Jovi: Alice Cooper, Cher, Ringo, Willie, and Southside Johnny to name a few.

Last night, Hugh added Poison to his resume.

As Poison was getting ready to perform at the USANA Ampitheatre in West Valley City, Poison bassist Bobby Dall fell ill. Our Huey stepped up, learned some of the "classic Poison" tunes, and even joined backing vocals on "Unskinny Bop". That must have been something to see :)

Kudos, Huey for stepping up to help another musician in need.

Dammit, David...

... I just got all freaking mushy on you, and I read that you were at a recent Toxie show? And you couldn't stop by last Thursday? Huh?

*sigh* I guess I forgive you.

Mostly because you're so damned cute.

After a recent performance of the Off-Broadway hit The Toxic Avenger, Bon Jovi's founding member/keyboardist David Bryan stopped by to say hello to his fantastic cast.

The Toxic Avenger is a charming love story and laugh-out-loud musical that has it all -- an unlikely hero, his beautiful girlfriend, a corrupt New Jersey mayor and two guys who play...well, everyone else...bullies, mobsters, old ladies, and stiletto-wearing back-up singers. The show also features the most memorable and unbelievable duet you'll ever see on any New York stage. Audiences from teenagers to senior citizens love this hilarious new hit musical! Easily 1,000 laughs.

The performance schedule for The Toxic Avenger is: Monday, Wednesday - Friday at 8PM, Saturday at 4 & 8PM and Sunday at 3 & 7:30PM. Tickets are $51.50 & $71.50 and may be purchased through Telecharge at (212) 239-6200/www.telecharge.com. The original cast recording (Time Life) is in stores now and available on iTunes.

Joker: C'est Finis

It’s here.

The end of Joker.

I have to say, when I started out on the Football Forum over on T’s Place two full years ago, I never dreamed I would have come to really appreciate the finer qualities of our David.

I never in a zillion years would have imagined I'd have days when I couldn't get him out of my head. Imagine my shock when he claimed the southwest corner of my heart for his own, pulled up a chair, and propped up his size 10's.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my version of David. I like to think that he’s just as quirky, loving, sexy, naughty, playful, sometimes insecure, and simply lovable as I’ve portrayed him to be. I think he is.

This next, last installment of Joker is far from the last you’ll see me write of David. On the contrary, I have other ideas in my head that are begging for a curly-haired touch.

This is not goodbye, sweet David, just adieu. There are others who need you, dear Muse and I have Richie to keep me company for a while.

I hope you, gentle readers, enjoy the end of the story.

Thank you for staying with me on this long, winding journey. Thank you for sticking by me through the months when my muse deserted me. I hope you enjoyed the ride.

I surely did.

Richie's Birthday, Boston, 2008

Remember the cupcake cake? Well, it had to come from somewhere, right? I mean, Jon may be a jack-of-all-trades, but I don't think he had the time to whip up a mess of cupcakes for the occasion.

The woman who did, Courtney Forrester (of "Sweet Cupcakes") did. There was a great interview with her on Cupcakes Take The Cake (I do read other blogs other than Jovi ones, you know; the mention was a nice surprise this morning...)

What's been the most exciting event Sweet has catered?
We were contacted by a tour manager for the band Bon Jovi to do a large tiered stand of cupcakes with a cake on top for Richie Sambora’s birthday which would occur while the band was performing in Boston. We had delivered to the TD Banknorth Center with the understanding that the cake would be served backstage. The next morning we learned that it had been wheeled onstage, during the concert, and that someone had filmed it and posted it on YouTube so we were able to view it.

I wonder if they (the guys) actually got any of those cupcakes :) or if the roadies got them all....

When We Were Beautiful ~ Clip

This has been around the boards, I believe, but in case you didn't see it, you can see a clip of the documentary here:

The rip of this is vid in my SkyDrive.

PS: In case you forget what this is about lol...

Bon Jovi's 2007 album "Lost Highway," the band's 10th in 25 years, was supported by a tour where they performed before millions of people in the United States and abroad. With the band at the height of their success. We learn the secrets behind this legendary band's determined and charismatic leader, Jon Bon Jovi, and band members Richie Sambora, David Bryan, and Tico Torres.

Here are some screen caps from the video clip. Fairly decent quality if I do say so myself :)

Jovi Eco-Friendly Merch

OK, so I'm all for going green. I mean, I recycle, use fabric shopping bags, traded in my SUV for something smaller, don't take the elevator when it's only a few flights....

And I'm all for celebs getting "behind the movement".

BUT, when you're an act as big as Bon Jovi, and you spend zillions on electricity and travel (gas, emissions, etc) for their incredible shows, one has to wonder how a free water bottle (with the purchase of three others) does anything? You have to have more packaging for the four water bottles, right?

Maybe I'm missing something. I mean, their hearts are in the right place, but it's gonna take more than a free $15 water bottle. Do you know how many you have to give away to make a difference? Me neither, but it's gotta be a crapload.
