Daughtry: Life After You

Okay, this is my favorite song on the record....

Well, this week anyway.

For me, it evokes an early-U2 vibe, which makes me happy. I love the lyrics (see below the video) and the positiveness of the song. Many of the tracks on the record are "she hurt me, we're through" kinds of songs, and Chris, dude, you're happily married. Where is this coming from? lol

The chorus is downright inspiring

All that I'm after is a life full of laughter
As long as I'm laughing with you
I'm thinking that all that still matters is love ever after
After the life we've been through
I know there's no life after you

Chris, that's all we're all after. A lifetime of laughter with some we love with all our hearts. You captured that wonderfully with a fantastic guitar riff and words from the heart.

The Official Video. *sigh*

The Lyrics:

Ten miles from town, and I just broke down
Spitting out smoke on the side of the road
I'm out here alone, just trying to get home
To tell you I was wrong, but you already know
Believe me, I won't stop at nothing
To see you, so I've started running

All that I'm after is a life full of laughter
As long as I'm laughing with you
I'm thinking that all that still matters is love ever after
After the life we've been through
'Cause I know there's no life after you

Last time we talked, the night that I walked
Burns like an iron in the back of my mind
I must have been high to say you and I
Weren't meant to be and just wasting time
Oh, why did I ever doubt you
You know I would die here without you

All that I'm after is a life full of laughter
As long as I'm laughing with you
I'm thinking that all that still matters is love ever after
After the life we've been through
'Cause I know there's no life after you

You and I, right or wrong, there's no one
After this time I spent alone
It's hard to believe that a man with sight could be so blind
Thinking about the better times
Must've been out of my mind
So I'm runnning back to tell you

All that I'm after is a life full of laughter
Without you, God knows what I'd do

All that I'm after is a life full of laughter
As long as I'm laughing with you
I'm thinking that all that still matters is love ever after
After the life we've been through
I know there's no life after you...

Say It With A Song

Thanks Kenobi on a Prayer -- I can't resist these things when they come up, damn you :)

Using only song names from ONE ARTIST, cleverly answer these questions. Try not to repeat a song title that I used. It's a lot harder than you think!

Pick your Artist: Richie Sambora

Are you a male or female: If God Was a Woman

Describe yourself: Who I Am

How do you feel: Hard Times Come Easy

Describe where you currently live: Made in America

If you could go anywhere, where would you go: Church of Desire

Your favorite form of transportation: River of Love

Your best friend is: Rosie

You and your best friends are: All That Really Matters

What's the weather like: Harlem Rain

Favorite time of day: Here Comes The Sun**

If your life was a TV show, what would it be called: Stranger in This Town

What is life to you: Great Hall of Fame

Your last relationship: In It for Love

Your fear: If I Can't Have Your Love

What is the best advice you have to give: We All Sleep Alone

Thought for the Day: You're Not Alone

How I would like to die: One Last Goodbye, Rest in Peace

My soul's present condition: Chained

My motto: You Never Really Know

** I know this isn't "his" song, but it's one of my favorite covers he's ever done.

I believe it is Lego Richie...

You be the judge lmao

Here was the kicker, though. Aside from the Stetson, there's a little Lego O-face...

I know, that is so, so, SO wrong...

BAD GODDESS!

Trailer of the game:

SouthSide Johnny fans...

According to this article, SSJ will be performing on August 3 at the Principi Farm in Amagansett (out in the Hamptons).

For $50, concertgoers can take in the music and buy food and beverages at the refreshment tent. V.I.P. tickets, at $250, come with preferred parking, a concert T-shirt, a food and wine tasting, and access to an air-conditioned luxury restroom trailer. Very, very important person (V.V.I.P.) sponsor tables cost $10,000, or $1,000 for a single seat, and include perks such as front-row seating, table service, and backstage meet-and-greets with the talent.

The "talent" includes Band of Brothers, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Bastards of Boom, the Surf Dogs, Mamalee Rose and Friends, Danni D., Rob Cannillo, and surprise guests.

Band of Brothers’ lineup includes the drummer Simon Kirke from Bad Company; G.E. Smith, the guitarist formerly of “Saturday Night Live”; John Conte, who has played bass with Billy Joel, and Jeff Kazee, a keyboardist who plays with JonBon.

There's already hopeful speculation as to whether JonBon will make a surprise appearance, as his house out there is only about 7 minutes away (22 in traffic lol). Plus with SSJ and Jeff K there, who knows?

I just know I can't be out at the Hamptons. May have to send my mother-in-law on a mission :)

Lego Rock Band ~ Bad Name featured

I shit you not.

Harmonix today confirmed a slew of artists to grace the toy-turned-crazy popular video game, LEGO Rock Band and, among the named artists lies some clear hope and enthusiasm for the music-game with such artists including Bon Jovi, Sum 41, and Blink 182.

Is this a lil Lego Rich?

Harmonix is promising a humorous take on the music-game genre with LEGO Rock Band, and with a new Super Easy setting, even the lowliest of rockers can enjoy the game.

These are your confirmed tracks for LEGO Rock Band:

  • You Give Love a Bad Name ~ Bon Jovi

  • In Too Deep ~ Sum 41

  • Accidentally In Love ~ Counting Crows

  • Tick Tick Boom ~ The Hives

  • Aliens Exist ~ Blink 182

  • So What ~ Pink

  • The Final Countdown ~ Europe

I know one 9-year-old who will be clamoring for this at Christmastime....

A Call For Support

A dear friend is going through an uber-scary procedure today, and has asked her friends to play 'Bounce' for her at 1pm EST today. I'm extending that wish to all of you, My Devoted.

If you wouldn't mind, please say a prayer to whatever God, Goddess, or idol you pray to, and rev up the Jovi...

Thanks in advance for helping a Goddess out.

Peace and love,
Hath

More Daughtry Goodies

I found links to the A&E Private Sessions epi; 5 in all:

... AND! A vid of the other song he did on Kimmel: Every Time You Turn Around:

I'm in the process of ripping these vids & MP3s, and will post the music to the Daughtry Goodies folder in my SkyDrive (the vids are too big, sorry).

Richie Candy

We're not positive where these are from, probably from the London trip? But that smile.... Oh that smile...

Thanks, Foxli!

PS: A few of you have asked why David and Jon got birthday biscuits, but not Richie. Of course I didn't forget Mr. Tall, Dark, and Sexy. I've got something written for him, it's called Dark Lust, and is a wee bit more than a biscuit. It's in final critique now (and I piloted it with some friends on another board) and it should be ready real soon.

Doesn't he warrant a chair?

David Bryan stopped by the studios of Jersey's Home of Classic Rock (105.7 The Hawk) to chat about his shows and Bon Jovi.

I thought it interesting that they were standing, and it looked like David was at the counter-desk in the office of a school. The girl hovering in the doorway was funny :)

Thanks, Kenobi on a Prayer for this find. For the MP3 freaks out there like me, I'll have this ripped and uploaded to my SkyDrive later today.

'Bad Name' on Guitar Hero 5

I know about this stuff because my brother is addicted to this game (along with Rock Band). He plays actual guitar (quite well, in fact) but can't seem to get enough of the little plastic axe.

The new version, which comes out September 16th, also includes tracks from Elton John (“Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting)”", Kiss (“Shout It Out Loud”), Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (“American Girl”), John Mellencamp (“Hurts So Good”) and
The Rolling Stones (“Sympathy For The Devil”) ~ Brother Dearest is jazzed about this last one, even though he can play the hell out of it on a REAL guitar *shakes head* I just don't get it.

New Story in the FF Bible

NEW BLOOD!

And more importantly, to me at least, a new Richie story to sink your teeth into.

Heaven by Richiesgurl

She didn't provide a summary, but I think the title says it all.

Welcome Richiesgurl!
