OK. My favorite Bald Hottie has been all over the tube in the last few days promoting his band's second album. I've got some vid clips and MP3 rps for you...
From The View:
From Conan:
From Kimmel:
On Kimmel they also did Every Time You Turn Around, but I don't have the vid for that yet. (note, they were supposed to do Ghost of Me, but according to CD, they had sound issues with Ghost so went with Every Time...with the uber sexy megaphone!!)
And just because I found it :) Daughtry doing a cover of Suspicious Minds:
In case you've forgotten, he did this song on Idol:
All of these MP3s, and some of the vids, are up on my SkyDrive for your snagging pleasure :)
There's a bunch of other stuff up here as well -- Daughtry talking about several of the songs on Leave This Town, covers of different things I found, a stray bonus track from the first record... just a bunch of different little goodies, like the folder name suggests. As I find more stuff, I'll add it to the SkyDrive folder.

Did JonBon Really Rock 1,000,000 faces?
An interesting essay on the topic. Made me laugh out loud. The debate in the comments is great, too.

David Bryan in Bryant Park
Yesterday while at Broadway in Bryant Park Broadway.tv caught up with the cast of The Toxic Avenger. Also on hand was David Bryan the keyboard player for Bon Jovi. Aside from being a member of one of the most famous bands in the world, Bryan wrote the book and lyrics for The Toxic Avenger. Bryan also co-wrote the new musical Memphis which had its off-Broadway debut in 2002 and is set to come to Broadway later this year.
He's so funny. Can't remember the names of the design team lol. Is this why Jon does the impromptu interviews?

The Music Man -- David Bryan
~ By Tobi Drucker Tesoriero source

There is a fantastic article, and interview, with pictures, at the link above. I've excerpted some of it, just a couple of highlights...
DB: I play everything I get my hands on. I play piano; I studied trumpet in school; I played violin for a little bit; I played bass violin ’til my mother said it was too big (laughs), because I could read the bass clef. They said they needed someone and I said, 'I can do it!' I also took guitar lessons. I surprise people by being able to play the guitar.
DB: For some reason I just know when it’s right. It usually takes a little bit of wrong to get to right. I tape it. I have a gazillion tapes in my life. Digital is great. I use my I-phone. I have a little keyboard on my phone. I think of a melody and write a little thing and e-mail it to myself.
DB: I am engaged to Lexi Quaas. We’re getting married next summer at a friend’s house right here in Colts Neck. [As for Bon Jovi] We plan to put out a new record in the fourth quarter and tour next year. I have files and I’m putting stuff together now in my studio. I have another musical that Joe and I are halfway through; in between touring I will work on it. I figure [that] if it takes 8 years to get a show to Broadway and I am already 47 years old, I have about four more shows and then I am done! I want to do more work. Chasing the Song is about songwriters… after the ’50’s but before the Beatles came in. I like that…creating, making something out of nothing.
Great article. What a fun interview this must have been.
So, getting married, a tour next year (almost official now, yeah?) another musical...our D's gonna be a busy bee!
Congratulations on the upcoming nuptials, David! We wish you and Lexi all the best.

When We Were Beautiful

Harper Collins' online catalog has an entry for When We Were Beautiful. According to their writeup, Bon Jovi: When We Were Beautiful will be published to coincide with the releases of a documentary, "Greatest Hits" album, and new single. Sooooo.... are we getting two records this year? 'Cause I don't see how a GH album is a 'heavy riff, rocking album'. How fun is that? TWO records?
And maybe, just maybe, the mythical MSG DVD.
Some more shots from the book:

Daughtry on the Today Show

Yesterday, Daughtry was on the Today show, where they performed Home (from their self-titled debut) and No Surprise (from "Leave This Town", released July 14th).
Big Apple Jovi Girl was lucky enough to be there for the performance, and has a great post up on her blog.
In case you missed it (as I did; stupid real life) there are YouTubes of the performances.
Home:
No Suprise:
As these will probably get pulled at some point, I snagged them and have them up on my MediaFire; the MP3 rips as well.
Enjoy!

Ticket Rant, Part II
Over on the Daughtry site, where I posted my original rant, several people have come back putting all the blame on TicketBastard, and bashing them. While I agree most of the blame falls on TicketMaster and their practices, the band (any band who uses TicketMaster, not just Daughtry) cannot be held totally blameless. They are fully aware of the policies and procedures this seller have in place, yet continue to patronize them. I am NOT saying that Chris and the guys are directly to blame, but rather that the Daughtry Machine, which includes all the marketing and promotions people, is. Who is ultimately in charge of what happens to and with this band? Think about it; that's all I'm saying.
People on other sites have been saying "they have no choice; TicketMaster is really the only game in town." There's always a choice.
They have the option of selling tickets however they want. They could choose to sell them through the website like they do their music, for example. They could choose to arrange to sell them at the box office. They (the music industry) can choose to put their heads together and come up with an entirely different system. Across the entire music industry, there are some extremely brilliant technical people -- surely they can come together and make this better?
That "they" continue to let TM do this to their fans, and yes, I said "let", is reprehensible. In the current time, at least here in the US, people are watching what they spend more than ever. That the fans made the decision to spend the money to see a band's show shows the depth of their loyalty and love of the music.
Don't take advantage of that.
