... Or maybe this counts as a sick day. Did no writing today, spent the day passed out on cold meds. HATE spring colds. BUT, there are chapters in edit for Online and Joker, and they should be posted in the next several days.
Watching Unplugged on Palladia. The one from VH1 from 2007. It would inspire me to write if I could breathe.... lol

Richie's Top Six Albums
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble: Texas Flood
Stevie is one of my greatest influences as a guitar player. I started out playing blues guitar like Stevie, he just inspires me. And this is just one awesome album.
Jimi Hendrix: Are You Experienced?
I wanted to be Jimi when I was growing up. Talk about a unique talent, he took that blues influence to so many places. He’s, quite simply, the man.
Rolling Stones: Let It Bleed
They were the band every aspiring rock group wanted to be and Let It Bleed is their finest moment. Our most recent album Lost Highway molds country influences into rock and the Stones were among the first to do that on Let It Bleed.
The Beatles: Abbey Road
If I had to choose a favorite Beatles album it would be this but I love all their stuff. I’ve always loved George Martin’s production and we got to know him, picking up tips for our own albums.
Bob Dylan: The Essential Bob Dylan
I might be a fan of British music but Bob Dylan has been a huge influence on both Jon and me. Lyrically, you can find Dylan’s echoes throughout our work and there are often Dylan references in our records.
Led Zeppelin: Led Zeppelin
Obviously Jimmy Page is a hero of mine, being one of the greatest guitarists ever. When we first became successful some very cool people wanted to meet us, including Jimmy. We always got them to play with us and playing with Jimmy was just the biggest thrill.

His Name is Tico...

... and he's an amazing artist.
I don't just mean his tenure with Bon Jovi.
The first work I had ever seen of his is called "First Love". I hadn't seen it first-hand, mind you, but a friend had sent a photo of it to me and asked me what I thought. He didn't tell me who the artist was.
When I saw this piece, I thought it was beautiful. The wonman's lines were perfect. The slight concavity of her abdomen and the line of her ribs; the small upturned breast; the muscles in her back. A very tasteful nude painting. What stood out for me most were the roses. In that shades-of-gray photo, there was muted color in the roses. Peachy-salmon tones tipped the petals. There are lithographs of this painting now, and from what I understand, the roses are distinct on each one. Tico adds something to each print so they're all unique. I think that's pretty cool.Tico's done a complete series of nudes, which I will not post photos of here. You can find them at the website for the gallery through which his work can be purchased: Walnut Street Gallery in Fort Collins, Colorado.
One painting of his that I find especially haunting is "She Waits". I would love prints or posters to be made of this one. The colors are gorgeous; the azure of the water meshing seamlessly into the sky; the burnt orange and umbre shades mixed with the sea-green on the beach; the splashes of red and pink on the boats -- just lovely. The sentiment of the painting is what haunts me, though. In my personal interpretation -- and what is art, if not personal to everyone who views it? -- the woman is sitting waiting to see if her lover's boat washes ashore like so many others before his. She has been waiting for him; anxiously praying for his safe return only to be met with empty waters. It just touches something in me.
Take a look on the gallery's website. They describe him as "...an incredibly versatile painter; his styles change and evolve as his talent grows. Many of his works are reminiscent of the German Expressionist painters of the 30’s, while others range from classical to abstract in nature." I don't know from German Expressionist paintings, but I know what moves me. "First Love" and "She Waits" do that for me.~ Hath

Frank Sinatra Movie
I saw this on Lora Darling's site and had to add my voice to the protest.
People.com is running a poll asking readers who should play Frank Sinatra in an upcoming movie.
The choices include Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Joe Jonas, Robert Pattinson and Justin Timberlake.
Uh HELLO?
First of all, you can't have a kid playing Frank, even if the movie spans his whole life. You have to have someone who's lived a life to portray someone like Sinatra.
Secondly, the person HAS to have piercing blue eyes. I mean c'mon. This is Frank Freaking Sinatra here! Piercing...not just blue, Leo.

And have you seen Frank's smile? How it lights up his whole face when he really lets it rip?

Remind you of anyone else? Sheesh.
And have you HEARD Jon Bon sing "My Way"? Sure, it was a duet with Tony but damn, JB kicked ass on that one. He's got more of a range than Timberlake.
Call me crazy, but Jon'd be great in that role. He'd have to color his hair, but hell, we'd forgive him.

I'm trying to get a handle on my writing...
... and am considering joining Tara, Cari, and Kiwi in their daily challenge. What that means to me? Spending 1 hour a day writing new material (1000 words minimum, shooting for 2) and at least 1/2 hour editing the previous day's stuff.
What that means to you? If I can do it, it means I'll get off my ass, finish Joker and Believe, finish a WOEfully late birthday story for Willow, complete the challenge I'm doing over at T's Place, get cracking on Online, write the next Collector's story (if you're on T's Place, you know what that is) and MAYBE pick up Photographer again. Whew! Oh, did I mention your Goddess is a Type-A personality? Not really happy unless ALL her irons are in the fire?
If I can't do it, you get to read Tara, Cari, and Kiwi rip me to shreds in their blogs for failing. Either way, I'm sure it'll be entertaining.
I'm doing a sort of dry run the rest of this month to see if I can do it. I've got a hellacious work schedule, and activities most nights this week and next. If I can do it under those conditions, I'll play with the others, and you may see a very VERY verbose Goddess this summer.
I'll keep track for you guys on the left sidebar, under my story links. That way you can cheer me on or berate me for not posting an update :)
Wish me luck!

Looks like Broadway-bound tuner “Memphis” has nailed down the Shubert Theater for its fall run, with a group sales announcement indicating the show will begin previews in September.Tuner -- with music by Bon Jovi’s David Bryan, book by Joe DiPietro and lyrics by Bryan and DiPietro -- played Seattle earlier this year. Storyline follows a 1950s Memphis DJ who is one of the first to play music by African-Americans.
“Memphis” aims to begin previews Sept. 23 ahead of an Oct. 18 opening.

A Glimpse Into Goddess' Day
OK, so this is pretty much my job; has been for the last 15 years.
Now you know why I not only drink, but escape into the world of Fan Fiction.
We call people like that hapless book-user a "PICNIC". That's an acronym (we techy geeks/nerds are BIG on acronyms) for:
Problem In Chair, Not In Computer.
Just thought I'd share my pain. It's been one of those days...
