Oh Happy Day

Only a few days left until you can purchase your copy of "Oh Happy Day", a compilatiom where some really great artists put their own spin on gospel songs, or gospel-ize a non-gospel song.

Most of you have heard the revised KTF that Jon Bon Jovi contributed to this record. I for one am stoked to hear Queen Latifah's version of "Oh Happy Day". I absolutely love that song, and Q's voice is amazing.

I am also in love with Joss Stone's sound, and can't wait to hear her version of "This Little Light of Mine". There are teasers on WalMart.com (though it may be restricted to US listeners, I'm not sure) and it sounds fantastic.

Physical sales of "Oh Happy Day" will be exclusive to Wal-Mart, but the album will be offered online through most digital outlets.

WMMR sound clips

There are three files out here on my SkyDrive:

01 -- Obie Intro
02 -- Keep The Faith
03 -- More Obie

I apologize in advance for the few little Windows pc noises. My PC was being a bitch today, and about 4 times during the broadcast, made noises. They're brief, but annoying. SO, I'm sorry in advance, but if you missed the broadcast, it's better than nothing :)

You'll really enjoy it.

Listen to new version of KTF in the next half hour!

Listen NOW!

http://www.gmppodcast.com/Stream/WMMR/

This is a radio station in Philly, and they do these blocks of music during the lunch break. They're doing David Bowie right now, but after Bowie, they're doing a Jovi set, and Obie is going to be in the studio with a new version of Keep The Faith and other Jovi news. I'm able to get on from work, so I'm hoping nobody needs me :)

Oh, and I think I MAY have figured out a way to capture the audio; I'll give it a go. If I'm successful, you'll get to reap the rewards of my brilliance. If not? Well, you can join my pity party :)

This made me spit out my Vitamin Water. Now, I think it's very clever, and I love the little bit of frosting fur lol but why does jon-bon-cakey have such a big butt?

Listen to the "new" version of KTF

According to Obie, with respect to the Gospel compilation that Jon did a song for...

It's called Oh Happy Day, and there are I believe, 10 artists doing gospel style songs. Jon does a version of Keep the Faith that I think is amazing. It will be released the end of this month. Check it out, very cool record with great artists...You should be able to get the CD everywhere. If you want a preview of the CD, Pierre Robert our long time friend and dj at radio station WMMR 93.3 in Philadelphia is playing a work force block of Bon Jovi tomorrow(Tuesday) between noon(12pm) and 1:30pm east coast time (in the states) and he will play the new version of Keep the Faith off of the CD. You can listen live on the net to WMMR stream.

In case you missed the news, Queenie posted about it today.

Needless to say, I will be unable to listen (read as work blocks that stuff), so if anyone can stream and send it to me, I'd be extremely grateful!
