This Made Me Laugh

I am (or was, I guess, it ended in 2006) a big fan of the show "Still Standing". It was about Bill and Judy Miller, a toilet salesman and a dental assistant, and their family. Bill and Judy were high school lovers who turned in their wild lifestyle to get married years ago. Now, as they creep toward middle age, they have to deal with more "everyday" things, such as their three kids: their intelligent and (to Bill's horror) still sexually-unsure son Brian; their typical drama queen daughter Lauren; and their smug, sarcastic six year old, Tina.

With Judy's desperate man-hunting sister Linda, Bill's interfering mother Louise, a lesbian couple living next door and other crazy characters around, it's no wonder that Bill and Judy constantly get into strange (and oft-hilarious) misadventures as they try to prove that they're not too old to have fun. Along the way, they always end up showing that they "still" love each other, no matter what.

In one episode, Linda is finally getting married to the lead singer of a Foghat cover band (which I can't type without laughing). The minister who the groom has selected to perform the ceremony is his 'best mate', the honorable Reverend Roach. Yeah, you heard me. Now, guess who played the good Reverend? Yep, our Richie; May 23, 2005, in an episode called "Still Getting Married".

Bon Jovi iPod Update

A friend posted this on another site (Thanks, Lily!)

Hey all, I finally got through to a real live person at the Bon Jovi Merchandise, customer service ( a miracle indeed!) They told me they had a problem with the ipods, apparently they got a bad batch. The quality wasn't up to their standards. The lady told me they have to protect their customers, which is why they pulled them. The lady said there is a 90% chance they will be back! YIPPEE!!!!

So, now we know what happened...

Anyone get one of the iPods and have a problem?

IT'S HERE!

I think I can start getting a little excited now. Work's been a bear, so the last two days, I haven't cared much about anything except the drink waiting for me at home at the end of the day. Seriously, in this economy I know I should be grateful I have a job, and I am, truly I am, but I wish it wasn't such a pain in the ass.

In any event, in 14 minutes, the bus is coming to take my son to school, and I'm off!

Second Sayreville Show

Jon Bon Jovi and friends most certainly rocked Sayreville's Starland Ballroom with rare hits including "Billy Get Your Gun" from his solo album,"Young Guns", "Midnight In Chelsea" from his second solo work in "Destination Anywhere", and "Head Over Heels For You", deemed by the singer a "powerstation bootleg" from the start of his career.

Jon filled last night's atmosphere with thrill, excitement, and glee, but in Sayreville's Starland Ballroom, the adrenaline-rushing gigs never go out of style! Jon will once again be hitting his hometown venue tonight, playing for the lucky winner and a few hundred others who participated in the MasterCard contest.

Anybody stalking tonight?:

Richie: Hitchhiking through Hermosa

Photobucket
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Richie Sambora made a surprise appearance at Hermosa Beach's Cafe Boogaloo last Saturday. He sat in with Hook Herrera and the Hitchhikers, a rotating band that on Saturday also featured bluesman Tab Benoit and guitarist Tony Gilkyson (formerly of X as well as Bob Dylan, Lone Justice, and Peter Rowan).

Now, RICHIE! I know a place, not far from where I live, where they have live blues every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. Local talent of course, but really good. Hey, every once in a while, James Montgomery or Shor'ty Billups show up. And you get all the good, down-home BBQ you can handle.

When you let me know you're coming, I can get the RibGuy to guarantee you have someone cool to jam with. And let me know your preference on ribs :) Baby-back, Carolina or St. Louis.

Gimme a call...
