The Billion Dollar Quartet

THE BILLION DOLLAR QUARTET

2008 UK PAL DVD (note that US DVD players are NTSC, not PAL)

It's hard to believe, but Bon Jovi sprang into existence more than a quarter of a century ago, and over a quite extraordinary career have maintained a sound and style that owes little to the musica fads and fashions that have come and gone during the same time-frame.

To say this unique band are their own men, unfazed by the "competition", is an understatement in the extreme. This film concentrates on the band's startling rejuvenation during the past decade – their contribution to the music of the third millennium. It was during this time the band released records as powerful and diverse as 'Crush', 'Bounce', 'Have A Nice Day' and 'Lost Highway'.

There were also side projects [including further forays into the acting world by JBJ]. All of the above and much more are covered in this programme, which in completion, provides a fascinating document of their work across this incredible period.

released 10th November 2008

£ 13.99 / US$ 23.08

Well, just, damn...

I got a message from dear Willow today. Seems like her husband, the ever popular, extremely supportive, gee-why-can't-mine-be-more-like-hers husband, Mr. Willow, is going to be in my neck of the woods next week.

Unfortunately, I have an offsite conference all day (it sounds impressive, but believe me, it isn't. We're talking about change management. Yeah, I can tell you're impressed. WAKE UP!) so I'll have to catch him next time he swings up to Beantown.

Well, just, DAMN....

Bummed...

So, my laptop's wireless adapter decided to stop working today.... Well, yesterday, I guess. On the plus side, the computer is work's, so they have to either fix it or rebuild it or buy me a new one.

The minus side, it took me an hour to transfer all my photos and stories off the damned thing :) and I'll probably be without my trusty LT for the weekend! For those of you who know me, you know what that's gonna do to me!! For those who don't yet know, my LT is an extension of me. I'm always on the damned thing. So, this is like taking away my iPod.....or my lungs.

The ONLY saving grace is that I have tickets to the Patriots game this weekend, and that'll be an all day Sunday event.

Now, what to do with myself on Saturday......

Thank you, Stephanie!

The way the lights reflect off his hair and smile....
The way his eyes sparkle with mischief and laughter...
The little gold hoop in his ear...
The cleft in his chin...

The man just makes me smile.

Thanks for this pic, Steph :)

The concert will feature a litany of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees including Richie Sambora and Slash. Tickets are $30, $40 and $50 and can be purchased at the PlayhouseSquare box office (216) 241-6000 or by visiting www.rockhall.com

A limited number of Rock Hall VIP event packages (priced at $250 and $500 each) are available by calling (216) 515-1207.

Well, at least Richie got named before Slash lol...

This has been news for a while. I saw the hit in my GoogleAlerts about a month ago, consulted the calendar, and as the Fates would have it, I have to work on the 16th. All day. So, I filed it away in the "coulda been" folder and shut the drawer on that.

Then yesterday, The Fiction Mistress and Willow both called me. "Can we steal you away next Saturday?" I surely wish they could. Seeing Richie perform a song or two in an intimate setting...where he's more likely to be mingling afterwards than at other events...and I have to miss it.

The girls aren't quite sure if they can go or not, but they promised me they'd call me from the HOF if they do end up going. If they could get Richie on the phone with me afterwards... well, let's just say I'd have another child JUST so I could name it after them. Kidding. But I'd be forever indebted...And if The Goddess owes you a favor, you can sure as hell believe you'll be paid back in full!
